I am a Christian. How dare you?

I just came back from church. This could have been me.

Disgusting you are continuing this tirade on a thread about so many people who have lost their lives. Makes me sick.

Me too along with my entire family. We spoke about how Christians are targeted for violence in all kinds of places all over the world and how the focus on that violence and preventing it is not anyone's priority, especially in politics. Anyone who's quiet about this and not explicitly demanding this type of violence be prevented is an accessory to it. Period. Same with Islamophobia and white supremacy.

I’m worried. I have a friend that lives there and she hasn’t responded to any of my messages. I’ve talked to her parents because they live here in my home town and they haven’t heard anything either, could it be because they shut down social media there?

That’s probably why. Hope your friend is safe.

There were terror attacks in Iraq for years and nobody cared.

It's not because they are Christians, it's because it's not a western country.. here lies the problem and it comes from "woke" or not "woke", it's just privileged western people that only cares when the problem is close to them.

anyway, we can really discuss it on another thread, 200+ people died and at the end people care about pointing fingers..

How do you know nobody cared but it had nothing to do with the fact they're Christians? There's lots of attacks on Christians in Western countries that goes unreported as well. I think it has a lot to do with it.

But don’t you think if this happened in NYC - there would be much more press and attention on it?

I really believe that it’s an out of sight out of mind thought process. And since Christians are the majority in America - many don’t understand they are a minority in Sri Lanka.

Anyway, I don’t want to derail anymore.

Because in Iraq the attacks were against Muslims most of the times in mosques by Muslims.

The majority of westerns Christians never cared about the minority Christians in not western countries, unless the attacker is a Muslim, let's be honest.

Up to this terror attack the majority of people didn't even know that there are Christians in Sri Lanka.. or were Sri Lanka is on the map..

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

Europe and especially the Vatican is very vocal about Christian persecution in other countries.

Dress up as Jesus. :sharon: If any PM would do that, then you would complain again and say they’re looking like Muslims, since many  Arab traditional robes are closest today to what Jesus was wearing.

What NZ has to do with Sri Lanka? Ask about their own government, what they’re doing to show solidarity? You are using this horrible tragedy for desperate political agenda and few likes, I have not seen you and those who agree with you, saying almost anything in NZ attack thread and we all know why, so don’t talk about selective outrage. You are actually mad people showed solidarity to victims, that tells a lot.

Um, maybe because my freedom of speech was limited by the moderators on here when that occurred. I had to a lot to say about that incident as well.

And you don’t need to educate me on arab attire, I’m middle eastern myself darling.

Point is, there is always outrage and appeasing to other groups when they suffer attacks, but never for Christians.

I doubt many people knew where New Zealand was or that Muslims were there either. But the response was very different and I'm not wrong for pointing out the complete double standard.

Anyway, multiple attackers have been identified (Islamist based group) and the death toll is 215 now. OP should help keep people informed and update that fact.

Several ethnic groups. The Middle East doesn’t only consist of Arabs.

THIS. This is the hypocrisy.

One example, Palestinian Christians. You never hear Pence or Trump or any of the Western leaders talking about them or caring what they have to say. It’s like they don’t exist.
