Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to keep Royal Baby's arrival secret

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced they intend to keep the arrival of their baby secret. The baby is due to arrive any week now.

On Thursday, Buckingham Palace released a statement saying Meghan Markleand Prince Harry “have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private”.

“The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”

Speculation that Ms Markle won’t pose for a photograph on the steps of the Lindo Wing, as several royals have done before her, comes days after Kensington Palace launched an official Instagram account on behalf of the royal couple.

Last week, the Palace announced it had launched a verified Instagram account, under the handle @sussexroyal, which went onto break the record for the fastest time to gain one million followers on Instagram.

Meghan is thought to have ruled out following in the footsteps of sister-in-law Kate by giving birth at the Lindo Wing over privacy fears. It is heavily rumoured there will be a home birth at Frogmore Cottage.

The Duchess of Cambridge famously posed on the steps outside the exclusive maternity unit with all three of her newborns.

She has instead appointed an "unnamed female doctor" to lead her delivery team.

Meghan and Harry recently moved into their new home Frogmore Cottage, close to the Queen's Windsor Castle residence.

The property has undergone a multimillion pound renovation to make it a perfect family home, which reportedly includes a gender neutral nursery.

A good decision tbh. Giving birth in a hospital might cause disruption. As long as it's a healthy pregnancy she'll be fine. I feel bad for all the hate directed towards her.

me too, she seems like such a sweet person - i've loved her since Suits! 

i think it's just the media dragging her, but the majority of people i know LOVE her.
