Gimmick and trying hard are two things Gaga was known for. Give me a break.

Does she not realize that the first album needs to be A-mazing or else the Gays will cancel her and her future albums? Come on thru Ava....

Off topic, but its kinda funny how some of you guys complain that there is always an Ava Max thread on here every 1 second, then comment on it and then contribute to it and ends up on Trending Today :ladyhaha:

Never said the marketing thing was bad, I just don't think Ava will last as long, she has a few songs out and people only know about 1

Yall are so hateful it amazes me!

Like Gaga before her she pisses people off and that is one of the reasons i like her haha

You call this being pissed off? Lol. @me when Ava has Baptist churches and Muslim groups protest at her show.

No one is "being pissed off" by her. At this stage most are just chuckling at her, seeing how after 'So Am I' she's basically a walking cringe machine.

The overreaction to people's reaction to her is just ridiculous.

I cannot believe some of you are comparing this to Gaga. I honestly shouldnt have to spell this out on a Gaga fansite. She never acted like she invented the blond bangs by naming it after herself. She didn't even keep it consistently the same for the next six years (looking at you, Ari).

Pushing for some self-named haircut, that, unlike Gaga's blond bangs, looks uncomfortable to constantly see, is just eyeroll-inducing for me.

And don't be obtuse. Reporters were either told to ask about her hair, or they only asked because of previous reports on how she named it and made it a big deal. It's cringey and try-hard from the get-go. Gaga was never asked what her blond bangs meant or what they were called, nor was there need for verbal promotion in order to maintain a unique image. These things need to happen naturally.

Really tempting fate with this statement, let’s hope her first album release doesn’t bomb :lolly:

it's sad to see how some monsters act like madonna fans did (do?) toward gagz. ffs, be open and root for a fellow female who tries to bring freshness to the pop scene. we all love and adore gagz,  it's been a decade, and it seems that this longass time made some of you forget the type of criticism gagz herself initially faced. i'm not saying that ava is on gaga's level, but let's not pretend that she's an empty, plastic, robotic gaga-wannabe. why can't you just give her time? she may surprise you.

if you hurt taylor swift, i'll hurt you back

The responses from lil monsters sounds EXACTLY the same from responses to Gaga 10 years ago when she came out.

Yall did we not learn from our fave going through the same thing as this woman is going through now ?

Stop it stans....

I understand what she's doing, she's taking a page out of a certain Lady's book (who did it for the their first album and beyond) which is repetition to burn the imagery into peoples minds so that when they see it they associate it with her (the difference being she didn't talk about it all the time it was almost subconsciously done).  The thing is she's trying really hard to make it happen, pushing this outcast narrative thing in a very inauthentic and at times a cheesy manner....

I don't really understand what her style is? She dresses like every other pop girl.

Ok so I’ve finally listened to “Sweet But Psycho” and “So Am I” and... I’m underwhelmed.

Sweet But Psycho is “catchy” but unimaginative. Also, the message of “beautiful alluring girl who’s evil” is very tired. Her voice itself isn’t very unique but I get why the song was successful...

Tbh I only got a minute into So Am I and then stopped because it wasn’t my vibe at all.

The fact she is talking about her “Max Cut” is kinda cringey and, yeah, you gotta brand yourself but in a more subtle way.
