She's lost in this labyrinth of what's good criticism (constructive) and bad criticism (deconstructive). She needs to see somehow that not all criticism is the enemy, simple as that

Sad but true. When one could no longer distinguish those two kinds of criticisms, detrimental things usually follow suit. One cannot shut out criticism completely, regardless of how vigorous one is of attempting. And to top it off, she's a public figure who sought the public attention with the kind of career she has voluntarily chosen. The critics didn't choose to critique her. She chose a career path to be critiqued at all times.

The moment you seek that luxury of fame, then the more you should be open and ready to public scrutiny. Hence, this latest statement from her only comes off baffling to me. And it's really disheartening from the perspective of a fan.

I know

Just move on girl, there's always up and downs, marry the night :derpga:

With every tweet, every lm.com message, every quote that comes out of her mouth this era, I become more and more disillusioned with her :noparty: These days everytime she posts something I'm bracing myself for the worst. Like you think it can't get any worse and embarrassing, yet she always manages to outdo herself with the latest post/tweet/quote.

People stop acting like "well, she is wrong" "i dont agree with her"

I agree that you dont have to be X to judge X

but sometimes ART she created for some reasons are judged in a harsh way that she cant accept

It is like you draw sth nice to dedicate to your friend and then others said "Why it looks blah blah blah"

but you are the artist that creates it for your friend and you know the meaning of everything like layer, texture, color whatever

other random people that judge you are just hypercritical or jealous

Yes, you can easily say "well, then just ignore those haters"

Well said, but it is never easy

see it urges her to write a song called "DO WHAT YOU WANT"

She obviously means what I said

instead of being like "I dont wanna be judged, please dont judge me."

She is the artist that creates art for us

She does not deserve to be judged by others that she did not intend to create for

People are also missing the context. Look at the post she replied to and maybe think about why she wrote what she did. Quit thinking in sound bites.

It's like yo Gags. it's your work, it's your art, it's your soul, you do not explain **** to anyone. If you're happy with your work, don't give a **** what anyone else thinks. Especially fans. Ignore the negativity. Most artists don't really explain their art to people. It's actually one of the beautiful aspects of art. It's the mystery and freedom of interpretation.

Homegirl needs  to seriously stay off the internet. I can understand needing to get stuff off her chests, and we definitely don't know how horrible she's feeling, but all this is going to do is garner whiplash. And the public is probably seeing this as a sign of weakness, which probably isn't going to make her any happier, seeing she seems to have trouble blocking out negativity.

exactly. it's tearing her apart.

Just because she's been questioning the role of critics and a critical attitude in art recently doesn't mean she's actually obsessed or depressed about it or anything. She's an artist and that's the topic she's currently exploring.

How is Gaga going to feel like touring when it comes time? I can't imagine her picking herself up lately, not with all that she has been writing. I'm pretty worried for her. I'm just not seeing the old Gaga anywhere here anymore. It makes me think about just how young she is and how new to the business she is. She seems terribly fragile right now.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

I know right, how dare she be human!

Hopefully you are correct, but I'm getting a bad feeling off of her!

But is it really off her, or are you interpreting everything she says with all the negativity and overreactions on here in mind?

she's been talking so much about it though. shouldn't she be spending more time focusing on positivity and spreading positivity? she claims 2014 will be the year of ARTPOP and she has a huge tour coming up and instead, she wastes time continuously responding to stuff like this. and she should know by now even if she isn't obsessed or whatever everyone will take it that way. why is she setting herself up for more backlash? she clearly doesn't enjoy the hate (who would) but yet she's creating more of it.

This isn't exploration. Artists explore through the creation of more art. This is just whining, a ''woe-is-me" attitude. Like, get over it, there are people dealing with much bigger issues than what SHOULD be irrelevant criticism of the work that earns them countless dollars regardless.
