ARUTW becoming a single would be the stupidest thing ever.

It’s got exposure from:

-Being performed in the movie, in full.

-Being added to TTH and some of the Hits playlists in Europe.

-It already has a music video out.

What’s left? Just radio. Will they play it? No. If played, would it help it’s streaming performance? No. And most important, will Gaga perform it somewhere? Nope.

Let the song run its course, it basically got single treatment already and it’s doing fine.

First people complain that Interscope made TEOG/ Do What U Want/ Million Reasons singles because the public responded well to them but now campaign for ARUTW using the same reason. Little managers being little managers I guess. :huntyga:

People don’t complain about those songs being singles. I think everyone would agree that TEOG, Do What U Want and Million Reasons are way better single choices than Judas, Venus and A-Yo respectively.

What people criticize is Interscope not having a structured plan and just changing things on a whim, messing up the flow of the era. But I think most would agree that those choices ended up being the right ones in the long run.

In this case there’s no other planned second single that ARUTW is suddenly gonna replace at the last minute, so this post makes absolutely no sense.

I'm surprised Judas had the most longevity in Spain from BTW :firega:

BTW - 20 Weeks

Judas - 22 Weeks

TEOG - 17 Weeks

Born This Way 21 weeks

Judas 23 weeks

The Edge Of Glory 17 weeks

Hair 1 week

Amen Jesus Black whatever 1 week

// ----

Shallow 23 weeks

next week Shallow will become her longest charting song since Alejandro, which spent 44 weeks. Additionally becoming her sixth longest chart run.

#1 Bad Romance 61 weeks
#2 Alejandro 44 weeks
#3 Poker Face 39 weeks
#4 Telephone 39 weeks
#5 Just Dance 35 weeks
#6 Shallow 24 weeks

Funny enough, it is her 6th song to go Platinum as well.

The biggest female singer (Kay Tse) and band (Supper Moment) in Hong Kong just covered Shallow on Live TV at an award ceremony! Shallow is now just 1 place behind Kay Tse’s songs on AM and iTunes! :diane: It’s rare that an English song is covered here let alone by the biggest stars, ha impact!

I still can't with the fact that US radio actually started playing Shallow just because it went #1 for 1 week when it has been slaying on Itunes and Streaming and been #1 all over the world for 6 months and they ignored it :rip:

This whole radio thing is exactly why I feel like ARUTW is on lock to be sent. Radio knows they f***ed up with shallow, and with ARUTW (and also the fact it’s an earworm), they are gonna make this smash (Possibly out of sympathy spins). I feel like this will be her first single in a long time on pop radio to actually peak higher then the top 25. :fan:

Dont need to even worry about HAC/AC cause +100 updates for HAC are expected anyway just like shallow.

my local iheart radio station is still boycotting. They also did NOT play perfect illusion and only spun MR a few times. Please tweet this and or share it. This is the only time we can attempt to get these picky stations to pick up the song.

You know what I think it is? (conspiracy time): I legit think that they felt threatened that a song that they actively opposed & refused to play managed to top the Hot 100 and hated that it low key signaled to others in the industry that even without radio you can somehow have a #1 smash. Radio has been fearful of becoming irrelevant for the past decade ever since streaming took off (they won't be irrelevant though...not for a VERY VERY long long time) but yeah they have been worried a bit. I think once they saw Shallow top the Hot 100 they felt like they had to hop on board so that it gives off the look that they were supporting Shallow all along.

(end of conspiracy) lol
