Anyone else disappointed by the Oscar performance?

Life is easier when we don't take these things so seriously. I thought it was a great send off to the era!

We've seen Gaga do a thousand unbelievable performances that left our jaw on the floor.

This performance was not one of them. Pretty much forgettable.

It goes without saying, I think, but let's not forget Adele's vocal cord issues are akin to Gaga's own health issues when they're touring. She might make singing like that sound/look like nbd, but her voice is ruined by the end of every tour.

Very true. But Adele is singing strong the entire time because of the type of music she sings so of course it strains her voice

For Gaga I meant the extreme effort she puts into specific songs... She sounds great but u can tell she's really pushing it and often struggling

I saw often in concert videos that she'd take a break during strong vocals at the piano because of being emotional but I often wondered if she played that out on purpose because she needed a break

I just don't want Gaga to over do it that's all

We already had Mariah Carey screw up her voice we don't need another talented legend loosing her gift :/

sometimes being HUMAN is WAY more important than being pitch perfect.

unfortunately pop music is compressed and autotuned so that all the life, dynamics, and human-ness is driven out of it.   People expect robotic perfection instead of human feeling and life.

Little complainers at it again..

There will never be a perfect performance.. The fact that there are faults make it authentic... Makes it unique and not just mastered and played. The performance was great.. It captivated so many people and drew out emotions from the GP..

And to call yourself a stan and complain about not hitting high notes is a bit absurd.. Have a little compassion and understanding that things happen.. Just remember At least she sings live..

They had to turn the key up so Bradley could be comfortable hitting his notes. Men usually when they change keys they go higher, while women go lower. You can tell by Gaga´s first line the song is in a higher key. She just couldn´t reach it unfortunately

Sometimes it's not about the voice, this is one of my favorite Gaga performances. What they did on stage really showed their chemistry and beautifully represents the movie. Life is not perfect, stop looking for perfection. That performance was genuine, emotional, raw and simply wonderful. Imagine being disappointed but that performance, I can't even imagine.

This is literally all wrong dasgohidghoiagiod. They did not change the key of the song. Its the same key, she was just sharp.

I definitely expected much more but that’s because we hyped it up like crazy here :ladyhaha:.

It was a good performance but not her best.

I did enjoy it and thought they did their best, but I don’t know what it is with Gaga that some of her most important broadcasted performances are usually not as good as her non-transmitted ones, when it comes to vocals, she either is out of tune, her pitch is a bit higher than usual, sounds sharp or dry or her vocal fades are abrupt to the point of making you feel uncomfortable or nervous, because as a fan you obviously want her to sound as good as you know she’s capable of.

So I get where you coming from, especially when her focus has been vocals and demonstrating that she can sing for the past five years or so.

First of all, I completely respect your opinion. But this performance was perfect in my opinion. Absolutely perfect. Were there vocal imperfections at times? Yes, but they’re human beings, and I don’t really care if a vocal is flawless, I care about the human emotion behind it all. This performance was so full of passion, talent, and amazing chemistry between these two incredible co-stars. I couldn’t have asked for a better performance, and I’ve already watched it several times.

I felt the same way about TIHTY's performance at the Oscars.

I really think she was just nervous. With the Sound of Music performance, it was her first time there and she had rehearsed for months. Julie Andrews herself mentioned how much work Gaga put into it.

But for the latter two performances I highly doubt she rehearsed as much, especially with her schedule recently.

But overall I definitely agree. The vocals weren't on point. But still, it was lovely and Gaga doesn't need to prove anything at this point. The whole world knows she's an amazing singer.
