She has done other great stuff but it looks disingenuous to outsiders when she never fully condoned this or owned up to it before switching her tone. All she has to do is come out with a simple apology. Sure, it won’t be enough for some people, but that will nip 70% of the backlash in the bud. It’s not ****ing hard and I’m really sad to see people so far up her ass that they can’t just admit she should acknowledge it - and move on ONCE and for all. Yeah. Plus, she could easily quote herself from 2013- believing that the media "wrote very untrue things about them" was very naive, and she can state how she grew from that. She was in a time in her life where she was feeling slandered by the media, and she found solace in R. Kelly's supposed narrative, which is unfortunately likely untrue now. Hell, if the truth was that they made a record out of external pressure to create some buzz, then cool- she could say that at that time, there was a lack of total control, and she had contractual obligations. But even I knew about r jelly being a pedo and marrying Aaliyah. It’s best for Gaga to address this before it gets bigger. Also to take off DWYW on any music platforms. I'm not sure if it's the original but the leaked footage from TMZ is still there on their channel and there is a video online that says it's official (with VEVO marked on it), it may not be, but there is one out there that people could easily find. I have maintained that the focus should be on R. Kelly and supporting his victims, not on who has worked with him. However, I do believe she may eventually say something now. She (and her team) are probably afraid that this may bring unnecessary negative attention to her when she is an Oscar contender. They will need to make sure whatever she says it is something that can be very well received. But I also think to some no matter what she says this is an unforgivable mistake she made. So she may not say anything and be no worse off than she is now. People are going to run her reputation through the mud regardless. I do have a theory about some of this, and maybe some of you can shed some light on if this is a possibility. We all know that she must have signed a NDA with Troy Carter since she has stated she cannot say more about it. I wonder, since this was also during that time if part of that 'settlement' could have included her reasonings for working with R. Kelly or speaking out about it. She may have known it was a mistake at the time but was forced to not disclose some of the details because Troy Carter could have been part of the reason she worked with him. Although, I guess an apology may not matter for that. This may be a total crazy theory. If she speaks out against him, he would definitely leak it to make her seem even more of a hypocrite. I'm 100% sure he has a copy of the video or his record label has it since it included him.
