It's in her genes but I wish they had a better plot for it. Slow and gradual breaking down. yeah i think the Dany story at least is going to end with her going mad but like you say it will be executed much much better. it isn't her going mad that is bad it's just how rushed it is. i kind of want the books to have a story where one of the freed slaves starts questioning whether she really means it when she says they can leave her if they like and she would not stop them and she executes them. that would be a good way of showing that she has become consumed with power and has lost her way...and the consequences of her doing that could be a rebellion
Fresco 1,688
When Dany was listening to the bells, she looked at the red keep and there were huge birds flying around it. I wondered if they might be dragons because they were so large, but there was never any mention of more dragons verbally. In the opening theme animation, the sword sheath shows a large dragon and 3 small dragons. I saw this on YouTube, and am now wondering if there were supposed to be 4 dragons, but they edited out the other 3. I still see people unhappy with the end of the night king. The night king was nearly indestructible. He could control a dragon and ride it. He fell off a dragon to the ground and lived. He stood in dragon fire without flinching. He raised the dead to defend him when Jon Snow got too close. He made a dragon block Jon . He broke the dragon stone sword that Theon rushed him with. He nearly choked Arya, before she switched the blade. In the after-show discussion, there was some special vulnerability to valerian steel in that particular spot, that they never disclosed in the show. I'm satisfied with how the night king ended. Except that I wanted him to be verbal and explain his motivations, and even summarize his history. That could have been an entire episode. Though maybe it will be an entirely different series. There are so many parts of this season that deserved to be more fully developed. Some of the screen shots of episode 5 were amazing in a fire and ash filled cinematic way. Bt1 5,213
This is Daenerys. Fine, she could still become a monster, but not because of some bells.

I mean, maybe so, but he's also recently come out to call the adaption "traumatic" and said there'd have to be more seasons to stay true to his vision (and that's pretty obvious with how rushed season 8 is). He also said he never even read the season 8 scripts and that there'd be important discrepancies lmao so who really knows anymore?
mpthecat 928
There are the bent-out-of-shape character arcs, which have flung these characters toward a specific end goal, ignoring that the path to get there does not make much sense. In episode 2 of season 8, Jaime is hanging out with all his new friends in Winterfell, knighting Brienne. In episode 5, he’s throwing away six years of an arc to run away to be with Cersei as she dies because nothing else matters but her. In episode 2 Dany and Jon are riding dragons in the snow like they’re in a Dreamworks movie. In two more episodes, Dany loses half her army, Jorah and Missandei, learns the truth about Jon and develops a taste for genocide. One complaint from last episode is not that these characters turns happened, it’s that not enough time was given to make them feel earned, hence why these two characters (among others) have had arcs that have given fans whiplash. https://www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi/2019/05/14/it-is-now-clear-having-two-short-game-of-thrones-final-seasons-was-a-mistake/#16efc8ab788a

They end the season with so few episodes, now it feels forced, when HBO allowed them to create longer seasons.

All the people agree that if she would have gone for Cersei and kill some inocents around Cersei, it would at least make a little bit of sense.
