Girl Under You 332
IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE FILM THERE MIGHT BE SPOILERS FOR YOU HERE I wanna know which songs on the soundtrack are live or studio. I watched the film last week (****ing finally) and for example some songs were obviously live on the film like Heal Me or Black Eyes. ARUTW on the soundtrack sounds studio but why the hell did they add the clapping and cheering then? And WDYDT? on the film sounded like she was lip-synching to a pre-recorded vocal tape. I don't know, maybe it was just pitch correction on post-production, but Gaga doesn't sound like that in real life. Then Shallow on both the soundtrack and the film is completely live? Why didn't they use the version on the trailer for the soundtrack? I'm very confused and I know all of this was probably discussed already but I didn't want to read anything until I watched the film and now I can't find any threads about it. River 117,299
ARUTW is live I think but not the same take. Shallow has 3 versions - Album versionfrom the trailer, movie live, soundtrack live, but again they are from a different take. WDYDT and many others were just in a demo version during the movie and she sang them live too.. Sneaky Oliver 22,219
I think the pop songs are studio in the soundtrack but she was singing live in the movie, they all sound different

I didn't even notice. Why would they use a live version for the soundtrack though?

Why would they use a live version for the soundtrack though? They are very different, in the movie Gaga's part is more shaky and a bit off key than the soundtrack live version. I guess they did it to give the feeling that it's her first time on stage and she's scared and then she's bombing it.. Defmix100 6,395
with WDYDT it was live in the movie but the shots where it looks like lip syncing is because it's alternate takes (muted and placed over the live audio track from other takes) same happened with her performances at Victoria's Secret
