LibraOctober98 3,501
I want to hear your tale since it's Bad Romance's 9th bday. Here's mine: I was at the ice skating rink (as was popular in the 2000s and early 2010s), and Bad Romance probably played once every 5 songs over rink's radio. I asked my good sis Rachel (I was straight at the time and in love with her, could you imagine?) I was like "Rachel, who sings this and why is it so popular? Wtf is a rarararara????" And she was like "you've never heard of Lady Gaga???" and I was like "no and in fact this song is STUPID! I HATE IT!" And so yes, I decided I hated Lady Gaga. I went home and was like "well, let me look up this STUPID song" and I surely did. I listened to it and was like "ugh so stupid. Let me replay it." And then I replayed it. And replayed it. And again. And then I decided I liked the song but I STILL hated Lady Gaga, I just would keep BR a secret. So then a year or more goes by and guess who found out he was gay! Me! The first person I told was a good friend named Claudia. And when I told her, she said "I bet you would LOVE this song called 'Born This Way" and I was like "who sings it?" and she said "LADY GAGA." I GROANED because I still disliked her at the time. So I put off listening to BTW for MONTHS. Claudia kept asking "did you listen? did you listen?" and I just refused. So one fateful day I said welllllll I'm bored so let me listen to BTW. I turned it on and my little gay heart exploded into 1000 pieces. I had never heard a song more beautiful. I cried, I replayed it about 100 times that day. And so I decided that Lady Gaga was unlike ANY musical artist, and that she was the realest biatch in the game. So one thing lead to another, and I was pretty obsessed with her for a while. I didn't join this site until I was hungry between ARTPOP and Joanne, when we were all kind of in the dark. I was like "where is gaga?" and I looked her up, and some thread from GGD popped up, I was like "wow, these people know EVERYTHING about Gaga, things even I don't know" (I thought I was like the biggest fan ever). So I decided I had to join. I've got my best friend Celia obsessed with Gaga as well, but she hasn't gone so far as to join this site. So there's my story! I want to know your story too, sistrens! Jenina 15,097
Exactly two years ago yesterday when I saw the Carpool Karaoke. It was Million Reasons in particular. I was super depressed because of chronic pain and suicidal and the song was how I felt about life. It connected with me so I looked into Gaga more and on her Instagram she had just posted about her chronic pain and I was shocked and stanned that day cool
Gam 19,695
When Just Dance came out I remember my parents buying TF and listening for months and months, also bopped hard to Telephone when it came out, then stopped listening until I saw Gaga doing the superbowl and thinking to myself 'Wow she's come a long way' so after that I fully stanned and found this website. lastfm - https://tinyurl.com/4x28kakr⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀steam - https://tinyurl.com/mbyp5as5

My senior year (September 2009 - June 2010) was such a great year in pop culture. I feel blessed - Gaga ended TF era and then the whole TFM era - Ke$ha's Animal era - Britney releasing "3" - Justin Bieber, even though i didn't like him, was a big pop culture movement and i respect all that as a pop culture fan. -"Empire State of Mind" -Drake's entry onto the map - Rihanna's "Rated R" era - The second half of The Black Eyed Peas "The E.N.D." era AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, Pop music reigning and not streaming rap mumblers.
