With my fibro pain setting in a little more than usual, my boyfriend away, and exams over, I was in an introspective, SOFY sort of mood. I played my soulful Gaga songs playlist and Million Reasons came on. For the first time, I felt that it was too fast and wondered what it would be like if it were slower. I wondered what if Million Reasons had a Joanne-like Piano Version. So, I used my phone's built-in music app (Samsung Music) to change playback to 0.8x which was too slow and then tried about 0.9x. The result was touching. The same song sounded so much more soulful and raw (even though it's actually computer processed now). Her vocals are amazing and you can hear the breaks and imperfections even better now. The instrumentation... It's very similar to her live performance at the AMAs from 2016 right after the Joanne release. Bloody Mary and MJH are better when you speed them up by 10%, and Lana Del Rey's brooklyn Baby is on another level on 0,9 speed because the way she pronounces the words becomes much more pronounced and interesting.
