Wow I'd never really thought about it this way, it does seem rather ridiculous to penalise copyright so thoroughly and efficiently but have no regard for disgusting tweets promoting inequality and judgement? I wonder how they will react... by technicality freedom of speech would kind of allow homophobes and racists to post this sort of content, but it just seems wrong that this hate is accepted by the Twitter administration???

LADIES AND GENTLEGAYS, GAYS AND STRAIGHTS, WE MUST USE THIS HASHTAG AND BRING AND END TO THIS. Do you agree?

Spoiler

But my real question is how long will this hashtag last for.. will Twitter take it down? :trollga:

Spoiler

also how about we promote Born This Way while enforcing the message :ladyhaha:

i'm not sure yet how I feel about this

copyright is a law

technically there is no law against racism or prejudice

and while of course I am against racism and prejudice

I think twitter is just respecting freedom of speech

if we censor things we don't like, what will we become?

we need to see the other side to understand and fix it

if you have a counterpoint, or if i'm missing something, please let me know.

if accounts are being attacked for copyright, it's probably companies coming to twitter demanding this content gets pulled or twitter faces a lawsuit

obviously homophobia and stuff is far worse but a legal threat would have twitter much more shook

Its an interesting topic. On the one hand, their platform is rampant with disgusting hate speech. On the other hand, unless it is violent, the human monstrosities have the right to say whatever they want.

The issue is not as stark as copyright infringement or copyright laws, but is a moral issue. Those that are critical/opposed to such hate speech know the difference between right and wrong...it will be interesting to see how twitter deals with this in the future.

You don't want Twitter to suspend or ban people for being nasty. Remember there's freedom of speech and Twitter as the platform that they are have to respect that. Don't follow accounts with racist or homophobic tendencies. Block as many as you can. And you'll be good.

I’m actually nice.

..... but you can’t correlate the two. One is  a legal matter.....the other is freedom of speech..... you know that thing 75% GGD uses to defend their hateful and bias comments.

I feel like they should just make the really nasty accounts private, so u have to follow them to see what they say lol

It’s called freedom of speech. Even though the things being tweeted are disgusting it’s their right to say what they want.

Copyright however is LAW.

Nah **** that. How can these paparazzi agencies expect anyone to know what pictures are copyrighted by them when there's all these media outlets sharing them? it's literally impossible to keep track of where an image came from nowadays.

They're just hungry for money. Even celebs are getting sued for posting their pics on instagram, which is ridiculous. iHeartRadio's twitter account got suspended today for copyright issues too. :madge:

Twitter was like never this tragic untill 2016, everyone was posting whatever they wanted without having to deal with any shits. Also why don't just make the accounts with copyrighted material just delete their posts without getting them suspended? People are getting mad because their accounts are suspended not because of the tweets
