kupo 201
Finally. Rupaul's Drag Race is in season! Despite the first seven queens sorta underwhelming, I think this will be the most competitive season overall. Of the first seven, my opinions (based not just on the episode, but also on outside interviews/videos/performances/etc.): Adore: I like her a lot more than I thought I would. Her valley girl schtick is less annoying than I thought it'd be, and more genuinely charming. Her lack of polish sort of works in her favor in a weird way. Ben De La Creme: Polished, and obviously has her character completely thought out. Quick witted and amusing. Definitely looking forward to her, although I think Michelle was right: Ben's got the kind of character that can wear thin with extended exposure. Given that we're going to see her week in and week out, and not just on stage at a gig, she's gonna have to find a way to modulate that. Gia Gunn: She'll be fun because she'll give us the always-necessary antagonist/shady b---h. Her fishy style is fine, but nothing to write home about. Though, I was living for that hula-hoop purse just like she was, lmao. Laganja Estranja: Obviously, a killer dancer. And has an interesting, more urban-influences aesthetic. But lord, she grates. And she's going to need a lot more than a death drop to make it through this competition. April Carrion: Wasn't expecting tons from her MTQ video, but she really has pleasantly surprised me. High fashion and gorgeous. Kelly Mantle: Kelly's a seasoned pro and an amazing queen. However, I'm not sure RDR is a great "fit" for her. It's just not the kind of show that will really highlight her aesthetic. She's one of those rare queens who actually has a sort of demure style/look (not all the time, obvs, but much more so than other queens). She taps into those Oklahoma roots, and does some great Midwest/Plains state drag. But she might be too quiet, too toned down and too subtle for RDR, which loves its high camp and high glamour queens. Vivacious: She's sort of in the same boat as Kelly, though in a different way. Her club kid style has an anything goes attitude about it that's not going to lend itself to the runways that RDR gags over. And her greatest asset is raw fierceness, but that just won't translate in such a structured competition. Like Kelly, this probably just isn't the right gig to really showcase her true talents, but I'm glad they're both here because they both offer, really, a pretty unique perspective not seen on any of the other seasons. The second set of queens is going to bring us Milk (who looks delightfully off-kilter. I love me my art-drag queens), and Courtney Act and Bianca Del Rio (my early favorite). And, honestly, I think Courtney and Bianca, given their stature outside of the show, are sort of the "anointed ones" this season. I'd be very, very surprised if they both weren't part of the finale. zexion_armando 241
I am just not excited for this season as I was for others. Last season really soured me to the show, what with the victim/bully card being shoved down our throats, and Alaska not winning.

JanPianoMusic 730
I'm so excited for the second part of the first episode! Can somebody tell me where I can watch Logo live? From Europe possibly? I have hola! as a 'deblocker' but I don't think I can watch on logotv.com with that. Could any of you help me? You will never please everyone. Last season really soured me to the show, what with the victim/bully card being shoved down our throats, and Alaska not winning. Although I'm super excited for this season because I have a LOT of favorite queens already. Adore, Bianca, Courtney, Laganja, Milk, and April. Phantomhive 2,030
Not really liking this two-part premiere tbh. Feels like an excuse to have a double elimination right off the bat. tho I wish the rumors are true about the queen eliminated from the first group and the queen eliminated from the second group will go head to head and lip sync for their lives In I fly on wings of winter.
