its such a shame it wasn't the lead single. it was so meant to be the telephone continuation, in the demo she even says "i killed my boyfriend, left him in the trunk on highway ten" thats sooooo obviously about telephone. ugh such a shame lol

For me this is a metaphor that Gaga did kill herself (Stefani Germanotta). To send the Knife to Hollywood could refer to that Gaga had to create this Persona (blonde, glasses, mysterious, costumes) to make it big in music and she kind of blames Hollywood and the Music Industry for it.

The Burqa seems to be the choice of her persona / her character, but it's not a opression at all that she is doing it. She decided to protect herself and her beauty behind these costumes. The GP wants to pity her cause they think she's nothing more than a PR stunt, but if you look inside the bedroom (underneath) you will see the real Person (Stefani) behind Gaga is more than this and talented.

She refers to herself as "Enigma popstar" cause she's making a statement with every performance and appearance in public, but you have to solve the riddle (do reasearch) to get it. Maybe not everybody feels connected with her/ feels attacked by her (walk on your street/shoot a gun on your soul) and asking her about her motives for her Persona if it is pleasure or just toil.

Summary: Aura is about the Persona Gaga created to get to stardom, but she's more than her Persona, cause after all she did all by herself, her charater and costumes just reinforced the process. With Aura she wants to aks people to see her real Talent and passion of music.
