DelusionalGaga 29,580
Queen of getting brought down by Judas. Jesus who?
ryanripley 86,575
Alejandro was the very beginning, Judas was the second punch with the whole easter release (should never have been a single), then the over exposure, then the hip and then ARTPOP was the end result of it but people love her now and that's what is important https://goo.gl/xMgMvJ
HermesG 1,605
I never like the song that much BUT......... We had the most iconic visuals (for judas live shows+promo) and her BEST video/idea ever from the beginning until today.. Laceface 2,964
I don't think the GP here noticed Judas a downfall either.. there was a lot of promo & the video is one of her best.
Ronlop 6,882
I think the entire imagery during Born This Way wasn't really GP-friendly and many people were disgusted probably. It kind of went from "She's so weird" to "She's a freak". But I don't think that was the reason for the significant downfall. I think she was trendy during 2009-2010 but like any trend in pop music, it fades away. Exactly like everyone was talking about Miley Cyrus in 2013 or the Sia take-over in 2014. She is just like many other trends that faded away.

HermesG 1,605
The downfall it was APPLAUSE (sorry) after 1,5 year of pause.. (i kinda like it now, but) it was in the first listen the most non-gaga sound back then.. *now we know she wants to came out with BURQA, then the track became Aura, then so many problems with management n Interscope R. Applause was too basic for an provocative ICON like Gaga n it dropped her in the same level with other basics.. (Katy). Imagine a psycho Burqa video+promo beside Roar.. (no comparisons at all......) The album was just start to crushed..
NicolasFR 2
You guys need to stop. There's no such a thing as a "downfall". Whenever Gaga released good music, it paid off. How can you say Judas started the downfall, when Edge Of Glory was a massive radio hit despite being the 3rd single from the album and having a boring video? Applause was also a successful single. It was just released in a very competitive period (Wrecking Balls, Roar). Million Reasons did well for a ballad. When was the last time a ballad reached top 5 on BB100? Stop with the pessimism. Ageing is not hurting Gaga and will never do (SIA anybody? She's 40 or so and still had N1 radio hits). All she has to do, is choose the right single for her next album: a pop radio hit. And it will be successful.

AndyGa 322
I think if you're meant to flop or have a downfall that will happen no matter what. After Judas she had the 2nd and 3rd biggest hits of the era TEOG and Y&I . Both sold so well , were critically acclaimed and critics didn't bash her after Judas ( they would have done if they're pissed at her ) and both songs became top 3 and top 10 WW. Also her BTWB was selling tickets like crazy so people didn't hate her. Not to mention the album itself sold 10M copies after Judas release. About the radio boycotting her that's also wrong because then Applause came and became the biggest radio hit of her and was a good WW hit. What we can say is labels , other big artists and their puppy critics and other fan bases were the ones that used the messy management era of ARTPOP that came in their goal to take Gaga the biggest WW artist at that time down to let those big artists rise and end Gaga forever. NicolasFR 2
What many of you guys forget, BTW was actually better than the Fame Monster. It sold more and had a six week N1 single. Those who say "the downfall started after the meat dress" are also wrong.
honk 526
there wasn't any downfall, gaga squeezed what should've been a 1.5-2 year era into 10 months. she released 5 singles in that time and each barely had a month to stand on its own. like the tour, born this way should've continued into 2013, or 2012 at the latest. applause did well for a lead and would've become a top 3 hit had it not been for the messy release. the ARTPOP era had the potential to be gaga's biggest since the fame monster. gaga already had a top 5 and a top 10 under her belt with applause and dope, she could've continued that streak with venus (top 10) and dwuw (definite #1 had she released and supported it properly). instead she decided to scrap venus and release dwuw (arguably what should have been a spring-summer single), completely abandoned the single after barely a month and went into hiding until march. that impacted gaga's career, not a particular single. and as others have mentioned, born this way was the second best-selling album of 2011 after adele. there's no way people got sick of her during the fame monster/judas. p.s. we need to stop dumbing down the general public and assuming they couldn't handle whatever gaga was doing up until her media blackout.
