Madonna has publicly shared her frustration about being sent to ‘song writing camps’ in a comment on her manager’s Instagram.

The Hung Up singer was responding to a post by Guy Oseary about her seminal album Ray of Light.

‘One of the greatest albums of all time…’

Sharing an Instagram video of the pair from the late 90s – the era that produced what is widely-regarded the singer’s magnum opus – Guy said: ‘One of the greatest albums of all time.. It was the first @Madonna album I worked on.’

He furthermore added: ‘You can see from this video the kind of relationship we had then.. NOTHING has changed.. If you filmed us today, it would be the same dynamic..

He also said: ‘Love this woman. Love this album. One day she will hopefully do a tour for this album.. It deserves to be performed from start to finish.’

‘Can you help me now please!!’

However, Madonna seemed in a less than celebratory mood in a comment she posted in response on Guy’s account.

In one she wrote: ‘Can you help me now please!!’ before adding: ‘Remember when i made records with other artists from beginning to end and I was allowed to be a visionary and not have to go to song writing camps where No one can sit still for more than 15 minutes…………….’

She furthermore added five fire emojis along with the words ‘coming soon.’

Madonna’s last album Rebel Heart received positive reviews, but is the lowest-selling of her career, shifting a (still impressive) 1 million copies worldwide.

Her best-selling is of course compilation album The Immaculate Collection, released in 1990. It sold 32 million copies worldwide, which in fact makes it the best-selling compilation album by a solo artist.

Furthermore, Ray of Light sold 16 million copies worldwide.

I really wish she can do her own thing again. M is at her best when she doesn't compromise and dedicates herself entirely to her music. Although Hard Candy, MDNA, and Rebel Heart have some great tunes, none of these albums come close in terms of quality to everything she did before. With her post on instagram, I'm really hopeful she will bring that fire to writing great pop music to her next album.

Well, that reassures me in a way. At least she's aware of the problem, which leads me to think the Madonna I love isn't entirely gone.

I can NOT picture Madonna in a room being taught things about writing songs. What is going on?!?! Lol. I know the label wants some hits but is she really expected to prove herself at this point? Maybe it's not all that but the image is comical.  The good news is COMING SOON.  Yesssssss

Maybe she's talking about Rebel Heart ...she did say during that time it was hard working with people who were all over the place. Maybe that's what she calls camp and what she's doing now is her own visinary fire!   God I hope so. Lol.

This is surprising to me! Like Madonna is one of the biggest names in the industry and she's not as free as I thought. Well, at least Gaga has full creative freedom to do what she wants so we should appreciate that !
