The music industry’s more than just putting out an album as soon as it’s ready. You have to find the perfect release date to maximize your results.

I think she's really refining her work. She doesn't want to just dish up a rushed album like she did with her previous releases. Not that they weren't good but I do think they were made quickly to cash in on her relevancy. I also think she's taking a rest out of the limelight post-Manchester, which is probably wise. If she were swanning around all over the place and releasing a new single so soon afterwards, it would give the impression that she didn't care about the tragedy and was using the attention she gained from it to garner sales, which wouldn't be a good look. I think she's also benefitting from not releasing annually, meaning she doesn't risk overexposure. Pre-Manchester, it felt like we were in a constant state of "Ariana has a new single out" because she was releasing something new every couple of months since 2013 and it had become predictable and boring. That's why I think her team was wise delaying Dangerous Woman until 2016. 3 back-to-back albums was a bit much considering how much attention she was getting. And I think they're doing the same thing again with this release. Basically, if you put out too many consecutive albums, the public are quick to accuse you of being attention seeking and it's assumed that you're too afraid to take a break for fear you'll lose relevancy. The public like it when artists give them a bit of respite between albums. One of the biggest complaints I've heard against current artists is that they just won't go away.

Dangerous woman still sounds fresh. She’s the most interesting of the new generation of artists.

I think no other pop song has had me as shook as when Into You was released.

I have a feeling she'll release something around April/May. I doubt she'd make the same mistake of releasing the lead 7 months before the album. She's probably planning out the album and making sure she's 100% happy with it as she had many of those problems prior to Dangerous Woman's release.
