has there been an artist with like 4/5/6 really big hit records in a row?

I can only think of Mariah Carey with 6 consecutive solo albums - Self Titled, Emotions , Music Box, Daydream, Butterfly. All #1 albums with #1 songs. But even then Emotions and Butterfly aren’t super massive records. In between she also released Unplugged - that also spawned a #1 hit, and Merry Christmas which charts every year.

His fourth album will probably sound exactly the same as his third and thus will do stellar. :saladga:

Britney's first 7 albums were all successful and hit records - BOMT, OIDIA, Britney, ITZ, Blackout, Circus, Femme Fatale. Only Blackout did slightly worse, but it was due to personal issues, her breakdown and etc, but it still scored #3 hit Gimme More and Piece Of Me wich was also a hit.

Britney avoided the 4th album curse. :lolly:

I mean technically he alrdy ‘flopped’ with his debut album in the US, mainly because he wasn’t huge in the US when he first started out.

So he’s still pretty new I guess.

To be fair, Katy flopped because she changed her image (she tried to be more conscious about the surrounding world, shaved her head, cried for 48 hours in front of the world etc which all resulted in her flop), Gaga underperformed with ARTPOP because she also tried to do something different, JT flopped because his album was unlistenable (also a change from his sound), Miley flopped because she just wouldn't stop changing her image.

My point is, if he continues to release cheesy singles and mediocre (at best) albums, he should be fine. I don't know why every basic singer feels the need to change constantly. It's not for everyone, people. I really think he will underperform if he changes drastically.
