You and I tho... She uses me when she shouldn't and also I when she shouldn't. If you're wondering what the correct grammar is, take out y the "you and" and see if it sounds right. "me could write a bad romance" "something about I"

But "you and i could write a bad romance":poot:

I always correct her 'you and me's to 'you and I'
also when she says 'our sex doesn't tell us no lies' I change it to 'any lies'

I don't know if it's incorrect per se, but in Million Reasons the following really irks me:

"It's like that I've stopped breathing"

It could've just as easily been:

"It's like I have stopped breathing" without the weird emphasis on "that".

Maybe it's just me :laughga:

yeah, whenever I sing along I just change it because it bugs me:ladyhaha:

Songs are poems, not english essays.

Gaga songwriting faults are less about grammer and more about occassional clunky flow or just odd lyric choices.   But thats just Gaga and proof she doesn't use writing camps.

, since I think the Koons collaboration came after the writing process of Applause, it may be Kunst in the original lyrics, even if it does not makes that much sense to put it in German :lolga:

You are right. Well whenever I listen carefully, I think she says "One second I'm a Koons, then suddenly the kunst is me." (There is that "St" sound the second time around). And that's even more clever word play.

And she pronounces kunst in a very anglicized way which is to be expected.

I don't think we can. It's definitely "our sexes tell us no lies."

I always hear "Our sex doesn't tell us no lies." I thought that was the lyric even before reading the booklet. In your version, there's a missing syllable. I'm pretty sure there's two syllables after sex and before tell.

The ones that trigger me :

"I wanna just dance
But he took me home instead" why mixing present and past

I’ve never even thought about this and now I’m a bit triggered :saladga:

Better lyrics would have been “Wanted to just dance / but he took me home instead”. That way she could have kept the JD reference while maintaining somewhat proper grammar :laughga:

I wouldn't say say that the booklet is too reliable, though. If you listen to an acapella-version of G.U.Y., it does sound like "Our sexes tell us no lies". You can listen here:

It sounds like the "d" in "doesn't" got slightly cut off.

Oriane

I understand how she can use bad grammar to make to flow better but why cutting the s in "she wear burqa for fashion" ?

You popped my heart seams, all my bubble dreams
