She switched up her image and her sound - and has some great tracks on this album with far more interesting production choices, and it didn't hit for some reason. Next era, people complained that she went back to the caricature and sounds she established with Teenage Dream and Prism... I understood this album the best when I re-listened in 2022 because at the time I was not in a good place like she was, and it was then that I truly understood this album the most.
