It got her a top five and top twenty hit, a sold out world tour, a super bowl spot, one of the best selling female singles of the last year and two Grammy nominations. That’s literally the only explanation here. All these award shows, no matter how critically revered, are popularity contests. Also I think that she had something to say because “time’s up” on her dress and when she said that while performing was a little strange to me.
