What does mass producing songs have to do with her ability as a songwriter. :deadbanana:

Her getting out of her confort zone has to do with it. To me she has been on way too much old dated stuff for years. In terms of music and approch to it

Even Michael Jackson had collabs, i also think Gaga would have already turn things around with some good collabs, but one thing i've conclude, when she's not comfortable it's a mess of a mess. But i'm sure if she wasn't a bit stubborn and proud, she could had already had an opportunity for a good collab.

Elaborate what lol

If Gaga is involved in the songwriting, the song will at least fit Gaga's style somehow. She can't just hop on a song and call it a day. Lmao imagine her singing Feels. The cringiness :triggered:

Okay Guys, I get this "artistic experience" thing.

But honestly, tell me you wouldn't have love heard her everywhere on Feels or This is what you came for by Calvin Harris or Perfect by Ed or Loyalty by Kendrick? And the list goes on and on... She's like the one big popstar that never does smashing duets... Songs that stays in the GP's mind except for Telephone which is 8 years old.

I wouldn't want her on any of those songs to be honest. I wouldn't mind "Perfect" but not as a remix. If the original was Sheeran and Gaga duet I'd be down for it.

She’s always said she prefers to be in the studio with the artist to craft the song.

Unfortunately that’s not how things are really done in the mainstream pop world. People are sent songs to add verses to, and they never meet and collaborate with the artist they’re featuring with, which is what Gaga is against, since she wants an artistic experience.

I’d love her to do more duets too, but I respect her wanting authenticity.

This! Also if I was a very talented artist like Gaga I would be against the same thing.

But this sentiment just proves that diets are requested as a way to gain sales and impress upon the GP, which I don’t get.

You all get so consumed about what the GP has to say about her, instead of just enjoying her music. I think collaborating with every single popular artist just to get a hit is lame and shows a lack of artistic integrity.

It’s hard to collaborate with Gaga because you need to similarly be incredibly talented to stack up. That’s why Hey Girl works. Florence is mega talented and famous but very different from Gaga in how she sings so there’s room to stand out. Same with Telephone. Look at something like Find Yourself where she pretty much out-sings Lucas Nelson on his own song because her voice is so distinctive. It’s only saved because he sings differently and isn’t trying to compete.

tl;dr It’s hard to sing with someone as vocally accomplished as Gaga and someone SO artistically in control in the studio. She knows her **** and only really respects someone artistically if they do as well. The end result is that she’s picky about collabs. I like it and would like to hear collabs, but I also think that her process of it now is solid because her collabs are never bad (even DWUW isn’t bad aside from Kelly’s lyrics. He vocally fits the song really well even if it was a questionable choice).

She has collabs though. Elton, Beyonce, R.Kelly, Florence, Tony,  Xtina, Metallica, Sting ....  Her albums are usually something else though - if she does collaborations it’s to fit into the overall message of the album and not a desperate attempt to get #1s

But on the other hand we did get the radio pandering “The Cure” so who knows what she’ll do next.

I LOVE the fact that gaga wants an authentic organic experience with duets and I agree with u. Ik that it’s not the way it goes in the business but wouldn’t u think that if any other current artist heard that this is how gaga likes to do it that they would want to meet up with her and collab? I mean it’s Lady Gaga they would know it would be good and if they were a fan I would totally go out of my way to meet with her and bond and collab that is so special. And I totally get it some artists might not have as much control of their careers but I would beg my manager to let this happen lol ❤️❤️❤️
