I wouldn't mind if Kesha wins.

In fact, she deserves it very much. This may prove that women can be successful on their own, and mostly  that they don't need manipulative men like Dr Puke to earn success.

REALITY

Honestly, if she loses to Kesha I wouldn't be angry about it. She's such a sweetheart, and she's been through so much and I know that she shouldn't win just for sympathy because that'd be unfair, but it'd be amazing for her to get a win after years of struggling with Dr. Luke and such.

She and Gaga are great friends anyway, so I'm sure Gaga would be just as happy with her winning as herself winning.

the fact that Million Reasons is the only nominated song to not be charting right now is making me nervous.:gum:

This is nothing to worry about.  Million Reasons came out way before the other songs, so it makes perfect sense that it's chart run is over while the others are still going.

I hope Gaga wins both of these awards. I know Kesha has been through a lot,  but I still think Gaga deserves the Grammys.  I don't think Kesha's voice is very strong, and I don't think Rainbow is anywhere near as good as Joanne (though I do like Rainbow).

If anyone else besides Gaga has to win though, I 100% hope it's Kesha.

We'll just have to wait and see though.  We can speculate a million different outcomes, but we won't really know anything until the night of Grammys!

I personally feel like Joanne as an album is much better then Rainbow but is Million Reasons better then Praying? Now that I am not sure. Million Reasons has better lyrics and melody in my opinion but the layout of Praying and the build up is much more intense and grandious in the end so I’m scared it might win over Million Reasons. They’re both extremely emotional but as I said, I feel like that emotion is better projected in Praying then in Million Reasons and I just don’t know. I want this song to win SO bad, I’m happy for Kesha and I’m glad she’s doing so well but I can’t, I can’t, Million Reasons must win, don’t ask me why, maybe it’s because I’m a Gaga fan, maybe I’m just bitter after ARTPOP and I want Gaga to just win a Grammy for her own music and shut everybody up, I don’t know. As for the album, here also I want Gaga to win this one so bad, and I think she has bigger chances here, but if she doesn’t I honestly want Lana to take it because she has been snubbed SO many times especially in her peek when she did have her best work and I really don’t understand how such a legendary, iconic, relevant and trend setting artist doesn’t have a Grammy yet and doesn’t get in general the credit she deserves yet her little mainstream clones like Halsey get praised left and right. Bye industry, ya’ll are ****ed up.

Sorry I get so into it sometimes :selena: Halsey is fine, I like some of her songs but she’s way too appreciated from this perspective while the OG miss Lanagendary Derevelant Reiconic isn’t.

I’m really rooting for my girl GaGa. She pour her heart into Joanne just like she does with every album. I love how dramatic in love she is with her music  ... fight me :firega:

Ed Sheeran is winning. He was screwed over by the committee and everyone knows it. They will make it up to him with the pop categories. Gaga is the runner up. Kesha's nomination is her reward. Most people outside of pop girl forums don't even know her back story.

I feel like Ed is going to win and we're all going to be pissed. I'll be happy if Gaga, Lana, or Kesha manage to win in either category.

I really want Gaga to win because I don't want her to get cockblocked again by Kesha. I love Kesha's new music, and I'm fine if she wins, but for me Gaga deserves it more. Although, both of them winning would be the best thing that could happen.

Unpopular opinion, but I personally believe Kesha should take home both those Grammies. Fight me

I am going to be honest and really say that I've spent quite a lot of time in summer trying to present reasons that neither Rainbow nor Praying are going to end-up with nomination within the general field, and I was highly skeptical Kesha'd get onto the Pop nominations. Yet Kesha pulled a:

on me and on half the music critics and got the two nominations. Well done!

Now about competition and is Kesha Gaga's biggest threat.

Best Pop Vocal Album

I'll start with Coldplay by pointing that the band has recieved over 30 nominations in previous years, but they have never been nominated for best Pop album, they used to always belong with the rock/alternative field, and although I may sound too optimistic, but it seems to me that a lot of their previous voters would rather skip voting Best Pop Vocal Album. However, every voting member has the right to vote in 15 categories, including 4 from the general field, so if those who usually vote in the rock/alternative fields decided to, you know, acknowledge the rock veterans in the pop field, Coldplay may get quite a support.

We must in no way underestimate Lana's importance. Fans and casual listeners may keep chanting the mantra that none of her material would ever top Born To Die/Ultraviolence, but she's remained a critic's pick with all her major LP releases, and her work on Young and Beautiful has surely helped her further acclaim among the academy audience. Lana has never been straighforwardly pop, for sure, but that doesn't make her less appealing. She's influenced the pop culture in a more profound way than many of her nominated peers, and I think some voters may think her first award is long overdue.

Imagine Dragons' nomination may come as surprise, and I think that their name on the ballot may lower the chances of Coldplay. Both are pop bands which used to be rock, and although Coldplay are veterans, Imagine Dragons have gained more prominence and were nominated for Record of The Year in 2014. We may think that some rock fans' votes will be split between Coldplay and Imagine Dragons.

Ed, despite not slamming into the general field, is still a streaming force and he has been regularly nominated since 2015 in the pop field, so he is an established name among the voting members and he may win some support in this particualr nomination because people would think he'd been snubbed out of the general field.

So I think saying that Kesha is Gaga's biggest competitor in Best Pop Vocal Album is a bit an overstatement. This year the nominations are really very tight, and everyone is everyone's competitor, it's so narrow. Especially considering that nobody from the Best Pop Solo/Best Pop Vocal album is represented in the general field and thus nobody is a clear favorite, it's going to be such a wild ride! :music:

God Control

Honestly, I hope Kesha wins. I personally don't think her album is that epic, but she's been through a lot and she fought so hard to get back, and this is gonna help her a great deal in overcoming the damage to her career. Lady Gaga is doing just fine, and this Grammy won't make her more or less of a great artist. If anything, Kesha needs it the most for all categories she's nominated in because this is gonna put her back in the public's eye and make the world see that not only she's making music again, but she's doing great as well.
