Do research on this, it's not like she started with this BS with 88 years and she really knew she had it coming. I think you still don’t get the point, so I’ll just point out some of his actions. Killing people is not noble. Killing yourself for a belief is not noble. Killing for religion is not noble. Dying for your religion is not noble. Dying for a belief is not noble. i’d like to point out that this Nazi granny’s noble behavior has very little to do with this other dude, but I hope you get my point better now. Benji 20,113
People arguing that we need to respect disrespectful and potentially damaging ideologies is such BS. It's a part of the Tolerance Paradox. To build a tolerant society, we need to be intolerant to intolerance. It's not hard and isn't really an argument to defend nazism or other dangerous beliefs. I’d just like to point out this discussion was never about Nazism, or politics in general. I insist, you seem to have a really intense attitude towards anything to do with Nazism, and that’s fine, I guess, but this whole time it didn’t let you see that my discussion was happening on an entirely different sphere than politics or nazism. It had nothing to do with that. It never did, and quite honestly I’d never really want to engage in a discussion on Nazism or anything Nazi-related for that matter. And again, I’m sorry if any of my comments frustrated you. Oh, I'm just visiting-

I’d be inclined to suspect this topic is very close to your heart and if it is then I’m sorry if my comments frustrate you. Denying the holocaust is not noble. Fighting until death for something you believe in, regardless of the consequence, is noble. The fact that these two things are connected in this particular case is quite interesting, and it definitely makes the distinction harder to see because of the emotional component of the problem. But they are, indeed, different things. Edit: @berlinforme also my reply to you You kinda had me swayed with your argument at first, but now that I think about it... No... Fighting until death for something you believe in is not automatically noble... It very much does depend on the cause and the impact... In this particular case it's just dumb... It's also worth noting that different people have different levels of conviction by nature - there are people who would willingly give up their lives or freedoms for a cause because they just don't ascribe the same values to their own lives and freedoms... How is not valuing your own life noble? That kind of behavior or mentality is really not worth the praise on its own... OT: Initially I thought fining her would be a much better way to go about it, but if she's wealthy, she could just pay it off and continue doing what she does... I guess I can't imagine any other way to go about dealing with her - I presume she had her fair share of warnings that if she continued spreading lies, the punishment would become more severe, so... can't really blame anyone but her... It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!

I believe it is frustrating because many people who live in Europe have lost distant family and future generations due to the war that took place. My family served in the army during the war and fled their homes too... I don't care for being told what did and didn't happen by some evil bigot. You’re right, and I agree. Just dying for a random belief is not noble. I think what I find noble in this particular case is that she never betrayed her own convictions. I think in this case ‘dying’ for a belief is not really applicable, because she’s not going to die for her belief. But she did show a consistent belief throughout her life, albeit a dangerous and toxic one, and she really did stand by it, despite her old age, when it obviously would’ve been easier and more comfortable to just give up. If we consider that, maybe, she genuinely did wholheartedly believe that the Holocaust was a hoax (because of mental illness or something), it is quite impressive that she was relentless in trying to bring awareness to her ideas, even at old age. So yeah, I totally agree that there are many grey areas (are there ever not when it comes to praise and punishment?) But standing up for what you believe is usually a sign of strong moral principles in my book. Oh, I'm just visiting-
