Trump Will Not Allow Transgender People In The Military

I think that when this is all said and done, transgender people who have completed treatment will be more than welcomed when joining the military.  I do think there are concerns to be discussed when someone who is in the process of transitioning wants to join the military.

Please don't ban me...rumor says people are being banned left and right for having opinions that don't align with certain people on this site. This is supposed to be forum where we can listen and learn from one another.  Nothing good comes from banning members of this community.

I am so happy for you:hug: Don't listen to other people, you do what you want to do!

There is a fine line between supporting Trump's tweet (since it's not even a policy according to the Joint Chiefs of Staff) and being openly and intentionally offensive toward trans people. If you remain focused on a respectful discussion of policy, I doubt you'd be banned. However, if you decide to start calling trans people names you'll rightfully receive a warning or a ban if it is a constant occurrence. The site guidelines states that such actions (flamebait) are against the rules.

There are trans members who use this forum and they should not be subjected to having to read hateful comments directed towards them. So yes, good things do come from banning members of this community if they violate community guidelines

I respectfully disagree.

You disagree that those that violate community guidelines should be warned or banned accordingly per the community guidelines we all agreed to when we registered on this site? :oprah:

As long as your not hurling insults at people or groups of people during political debate and discussion, you won't be reprimanded. That's a pretty low standard most can meet. Those that can't are a disruption to the civilized discussions on this site.

The problem is that is all subjective.  What is offensive to one might not be to another.  People need to stop being so sensitive to stuff they read online....

Forums have rules though. If you don't like it then  I don't know what to say.

If you felt you were warned unfairly you can always fight it in the support section.

Well if you ban someone they will just create a new account and keep coming back.

I believe they track IPs to prevent that from happening. If you get caught on a duplicate account I'm pretty sure your original ban could get lengthened.

So bans aren't forever?  Im just trying to understand all of it so I can be in line with all of gagadaily policy.  Or is a ban forever?

I have never been banned. I believe there are three bans. The first one is between 1-3 months. The second is around six months. The third ban is a permaban I believe.

To get a ban you have to accumulate 10 warning points (which go away after time if you've been following the rules)

This is the gist of what I've gathered from seeing other posts regarding bans and what not.

I'm not saying it's the best plan.  But mark my word.  It will happen.  And it will be happening very soon.

Well that's not a very positive outlook!

Anyways, you should be fine as long as you are respectful. It is okay to have different thoughts on controversial subjects that may not sit well with others. It's all about how you convey your thoughts!

This topic for instance is pretty sensitive considering we have many members here who are trans. So it wouldn't be wise to say something disrespectful about the trans community on GGD (or anywhere honestly).

It depends. Typically, the process is you receive warning points, which expire after two months. If you accumulate 10 active warning points, you get a 3 month ban I believe. The second time you accumulate 10 active warning points, you get a 6 month ban I believe. The third go-round is a permaban. However, I'm pretty sure if there is an obvious troll or user that solely goes against community guidelines in their posts, they may receive a ban without accumulating the 10 active warning points.

What exactly does this mean? :oprah:

It means they're probably a troll that's come back, and have been found out a few times.
