London Tube using gender-neutral greetings

I mean as long as it makes people feel more comfortable then that's all that matters.

But people on the Tube are so rude that's why I try very hard to avoid going on it. Full of no mannered baboons.

this is what makes more and more people homophobes and transphobes... my  GP coworkers were talking about it like they were really angry and they thought its just so unnecessary and stupid.

Hopefully at least some people feel better now

I don't get it what is wrong with "ladies and gentlemen"? :toofunny: Is there anyone in this world finding this offensive? :toofunny:

Makes me kinda sad. I like when people say ma'am or miss, it reaffirms my femininity.

But they are people identifying as neither or are born inter. Just because they stop saying Ladies and Gentlemen you aren to less feminine.

OK I agree with you on the 2 genders, but don't be so angry about it, it brings nothing to the discussion, aka the point of the thread

Being intersex doesn't make someone another gender. It means they have a birth defect.

It's not a defect. They are just born inter. Like people are born male or female.

Not sure why you guys seem offended about them saying 'everyone'. It's not that big of a deal. It's just a bit more inclusive.

It's not the most important thing in the world, but it's a super minor and simple change that probably took less than five minutes to do... We aren't somehow losing focus on bigger issues because they changed this announcement

This reminds me of the rage people have during the holiday season when people say "Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas"

Kind of pointless but it doesn't bother me. If it makes some people feel more comfortable about themselves, then it's all good

When someone is intersex, their anatomy doesn't doesn't match their chromosomes. They're still one of the 2 genders, they have one on their documents depending on their chromosomes.

Except saying happy holidays has a point. Saying 'everyone' is just pointless because they basically said everyone before. It's not that big a deal, it's just kinda dumb.
