Jorge Gonzalez Varela 368
Exactly, that's what I've always been talking about. She lost her spark and her passion, she is lost. I know we all change, it's normal, but in addition to changing now she lost her essence. Even in Coachella seemed lost and in some places the audience was bored, there is no more passion in it. I miss my old Lady Gaga full of passion, ambition and life. Here's to our brand new start, I won't be waiting for nothing. I'll mend the broken parts. giskardsb 12,565
Gaga hasn't lost a spark IMO, she channels it in different directions now as she explores various avenues of her creativity. I think fans though have "lost the spark" in that they miss when their "relationship" with Gaga was new, exciting, mysterious, etc. However no relationship maintains that sense of newness, the "lust" phase if you will, forever. Some people continuously need that stimulation and bounce from relationship to relationship in constant search of that rush. Others find a long term deeper meaning. Luc famously told Gaga she'd never amount to anything. We seem to have a lot of Luc's in this fanbase lately, telling Gaga all the ways she is screwing up, that she should stick with what she is good at, that she should let others tell her how to work, that she'll never be a good actor and should stick to pop, that she isn't working hard enough, etc. Is that the type of person you want to be to Gaga, the critical Luc figure? Or are you going to be that person that says "you just be you, you crazy person, and find out what you are capable of." Then maybe you can sit and watch Gaga do acting and different genres, and maybe learn a few things in the process about not settling for the status quo, the value of personal exploration, that failure is a necessary learning step on the way to success, and that ultimately life without balance and meaningful personal relationships is not really life. NIghtmareElm 2,606
I don't think she has lost any passion when it comes to performing. The Coachella performances and The Super Bowl proved she still has the full package and a lot of passion. Gaga has a lot more energy than most pop girls today. The only thing that she has gotten worse at is dancing. Her dancing skills have seriously went to hell but she was always a pretty bad dancer
The Fame 4,192
I honestly think her break up with Taylor has affected her more than we and/or she realizes. I think she's got a touch of melancholy from it. She still loves her fans and music, in my opinion.
Michaelandro 442
The spark has faded and she lost her drive. It's quite simple actually... She's been in the industry for almost a decade and she's basically done it all. I mean she's been at the top, enjoyed the view and now I guess she's happy to just make music, it's not about showbiz anymore. It is kinda sad because she wasn't just a commercial pop star but a real game changer, I mean the amount of influence she's had worldwide, it's just mind blowing. I don't know it just happens, I've seen it with some other female pop stars, and tbh I wouldn't be surprised if people start thinking real gaga died and was replaced

Even if you're not depressed anymore, it changes you.

shane_c 480
The drop in popularity she experienced after BTW was a shock. BTW (the song) caused it, most of it, but it wasn't really obvious until AP came out and people called it ARTFLOP and said she was over. If you're noticing something I would say that's what it is. She was at the very top and then lost that it seems almost all at once. I think she finally feels back now though since the Super Bowl. But I also think she does have different perspective now. She sees it more as a business, not totally, but much more than she did before. I actually don't see much of a difference in performances, but people may be noticing something I don't, and if they are that's what Id say it is. There are loads of ways of channeling her creativity and originality that maybe she hasn't experimented with yet.

She said recently about why she stays in the industry is that she provides jobs for people. I think that's part of the reason she has come up with to give it meaning. She's doing it for the people around her (her dancers, her band....). It's not totally that, its still about art etc.. but she sees that as a big part of it now too. blackcoffee 1,264
I don't agree with the OP, but for those who feel she has lost that spark, you ever think that the "spark" is gone because she literally broke her hip during BTWB and due to chronic pain is probably in some sort of discomfort or pain every time she performs...maybe it's not the spark she lost but rather she literally and physically can't keep up that stage facade... I think her need to put out her art to the world is still what motivates her the most. The jobs thing is definitely a part of it but it's in the background imo

The question is is she willing to Don't get me wrong I'm not one of those people claiming her career is over, but the ambition she had back in the day is gone I think. Her priorities changed. I'm sure she will continue to explore her creativity but just not in a way she did back in the day. That spark that people are wondering about, it's gone. It's not the end of the world, it just the way it is.
