Having the government run healthcare completely erodes any type of incentive for healthcare to improve (no real competition). So my answer to your statement would be yes and no. Just to be clear, I am not trying to advocate for the failed Obamacare and the completely innane Healthcare Bill the Republicans are trying to pass.

The article also explains why the wait times in Canada wouldn't become reality here.

I'm reluctant to believe articles not published by actual academic journals, especially ones that come from AARP - an interest group that makes serious cash by lobbying. For example, they supposedly made close to $3 billion alone off of their decision to support Obamacare's proposed cuts to Medicare back in 2012.  I'll look into into online databases that I have access to and will post if I change my opinion on single pay. I don't think it will, but one never knows. Will look into it

Also, not as long as Americans have employee based health programs. They don't want to give those up.

Of course, we need a progressive like Elizabeth Warren or Tulsi Gabbard to get it through. 

I think businesses would love single payer because know businesses won't have to worry about paying for employees health care or spending hours and hours figuring out which provider to use. 

I think single payer is a great system overall, I think the latest poll was 60% of Americans want it and it saves families thousands of dollars

Lol, like one person could get it through. You would need all three branches, and even then there are so many problems and roadblocks. 

Maybe. It's part of the overall compensation package, though. The issue was never whether businesses will go for it, but whether Americans will want to give it up and trust the government with their healthcare needs. 

Yes, I know you do. People want Walt Disney World for the price of going to Six Flags. Of course they want that deal! The real cost and reality would take decades to work itself out.

It wouldn't be a savings, when you are having to pay for the poorest and sickest, along with your family. Either the debt goes up or tax payers pay way more...there are only two options.
