AHS 13 is already #1 on Hulu. AHS Delicate unexpectedly doing big numbers. 

Now I get why FX boss said they care a LOT about HULU numbers

And the fact Delicate is almost matching the minutes watched of Hotel and Freak Show which have more numerous and longer episodes

I'm very surprised about this tbh. Not surprised AHS is still catching new generations of fans and totally managed to switch in the streaming age though

Delicate getting as much attention as Freakshow is a travesty I wish I never learned about

To make it clearer in music charts words : live ratings for AHS on FX are like Itunes numbers and the Hulu streaming numbers are like Spotify / Apple numbers.

Very simple : Hulu / Disney+ is what makes it renewed every year in the streaming era

I’m shocked by how many Gen Z are in this tbh. I guess Gen Z enjoy tv more than movies because most movie ticket sales are overwhelmingly sold to Millenials. 

But glad it’s still getting good numbers, sad  NYC is so low though. My guess is Delicate is so high because of Kim K fans tuning in.

I’m Gen Z and AHS was a show a lot of people my age watched, I started watching in 2014 just before freak show started (24 now)

Always good to have younger fans in the franchise and supporting TV in general. Just need Gen Z/Alpha to carry a movie box office because it could stop the nostalgia fest in media low-key

AHS has a strong community to be honest. And a growing one. I never got that much follows, reactions, sharings on AHS France in a pre-season time than during the AHS 13

13 will be a hit season for Hulu

Honestly same. This one and Roanoke are my least favorite seasons. I like death valley more than both of them tbh

Honestly, I haven’t been to the theaters since 2019. The only way they’re going to get me back to one is if they go back to waiting a year for home release post-cinema. Otherwise, I’ll just wait for a few weeks and watch it at home. I’m pretty sure a significant number of people do the same

The problem is because of how corporations work now that’s never going to happen again. Even the most successful movies now only spend a few months max in the cinema (I think SpiderMan is still going) but once a box office falls off they put it on streaming to encourage subscriptions to push profit.

It’s why physical home media is dying off, for example I don’t expect a physical BND dvd anytime soon, if at all, unless the Disney+ subs don’t increase like they should.

That’s why there’s still lots of remakes, reboots and nostalgia sequels being made; because new movies don't get the attention they used to. Millennials make almost 65% of the box office now in cinemas, and the remaining is divided up between younger and surviving older generations. Gen Z/Alpha makes up most of the box office for new individual releases but doesn’t make movies enough money.

Obsession was the first time in 20 years an original movie has been so profitable. With an almost 500% profit markup. So it’s showing times are shifting, but an oddity sadly doesn’t help. Nostalgia based content still makes the most at the box office. 

But as I said Gen Z/Alpha are slowly making up new TV audiences. Because TV puts out more original content. But if something like the HP remake show proves to be even more successful; then a lot of studios will probably pivot to copy the formula. So things like LOTR, The Shining or other classic movies could get made into remake TV shows.
