Because of the thing that hurts her chart position the most...streamingĀ :poot:

Unfortunately because people were forced to watch Gags perform it on Youtube Music Awards as an Ad which counted towards streaming.Ā

I said unfortunately because other pop fans like to bring it up as the ultimate proof that Gaga ALWAYS uses payola which I do not think is true.

Btw, if gaga performed applause as originally planned, it would've gone #1

Youtube Music Awards

She also had two top 10s that week considering that Applause charted at #10 as well (#9 without Dope).

Whenever I think that if Gaga had performed Applause at the awards the song would have re-peaked at the top 2 (maybe even #1) after all these weeks the song remained in the BB top 10 it makes me so sad.Ā

Fun fact: If streaming was counting towards the BB Hot 100 during Ā BTW Era Judas would have peaked top 5 (and maybe even top 3) and would have had much more longevity in the top chart.

Streaming entered the chart formula in 2012 if I recall...

Streaming.

It also had like a 75% lead at #1 on iTunes though, which people forget. That lead was incredible (granted it was mainly from automatic downloads from the album pre-order but still)Ā http://kworb.net/pop/archive/20131104.html

And Applause was at #18 already and #9 at BB Hot 100.Ā

It would have had a 95% lead or something.Ā

And massive streaming.Ā

And massive buzz.Ā

She has had indeed bad timing many times in her career (though we kind of forget all the good luckĀ she has had as well)
