No where in either article are the academic standings of the students discussed. It's very narrow-minded to believe that they must be stupid or subpar to find dark humour entertaining.

The people on my timelines don't find Holocaust jokes funny and state that they find abusing children arousing. They don't share these types of things with me "behind closed doors" either. The fact that you find these types of jokes humorous and harmless says something about you, not about "most people".

What you do in private is your business...that is correct, but if your choices are disturbing and you aren't smart enough to hide them, then you reap the consequences from the private institutions that you are a part of. 

Being a teenage boy is not an excuse to be a racist asshole. These jokes are not harmless.

Vile. These "jokes" aren't harmless, they are hate speech, and they contribute to a culture that literally gets people killed.

 

All colleges have an ethics code that people representing the university must follow. This is a clear violation, and after the info was brought to their attention they made the correct choice. 

 

I am am literally baffled by your defense of this. Do you really think most people behave this way in private? Do you behave this way in private? I don't know anyone who does.
