Her love for him ain't cheap, but it breaks, just like a knock of piece from Fulton Street. i think this is about how Natali is stronger than Gaga, and how Nat could let go of something dead, or 'break' out of something unfulfilling. Gaga's not really that type of person, though. She likes to keep her private life private, and while yeah, she could have gotten more media attention by saying it was about Taylor, I think she didn't want to jeopardize their relationship going further as friends. It's all a persona though and marketing , look at Beyonce with Lemonade then she gets herself knocked up by Jay Z. Gaga used to be all about controversy, imagine if she came out and said "PI is about Taylor cause he cheated on me" it would have drew attention to the song and made Joanne more appealing. Yeah, Gaga's always been drawn to controversy, but not at the expense of someone else. Everyone would be sh*tting on Taylor for something we know nothing about. Just because Beyonce did it doesn't mean Gaga would have too. They're too very different people. Plus, having the notion that "PI is about Taylor because he cheated on me" wouldn't necessarily make Joanne look more appealing. Joanne, no matter which way you cut it, was never going to be as successful/big of a hit as her previous stuff because to both a lot of Little Monsters and casual listers, it's far too different from anything she's done before.
