But she doesn't have her music on Spotify. She has to check that. If not, it will be impossible to be #1

No she won't. Literally in past few months, pure sales have died.

That's why she'll bring back the digital era.

But look at her album sales. Every single person already had her album why would they buy the song again :poot:

still, people could stream it but even there she only did ok. I own albums but i never listen to them i just stream them and i guess that's the case for many people. But yeah since her album sales are so huge single succes doesn't really matters anyways.

Her last album sold 6,000,000 pure in the USA alone. If she doesn't reach 1M this time around, it would be a hell of a surprise. Regardless of the sales climate.

They're giving Justin Bieber back to back #1 hits instead.

This change that favors streaming is also hurting female artists more than it helps. Back in the day the charts was basically a mirror of women's & LGBT people's tastes, because those groups are the major demographic that bought songs on iTunes and listened to pop radio. Men predominantly illegaly downloaded or started streaming. Now the charts are more reflective of (straight) men's tastes.

You have no idea how much they're trashing Katy. But they stay silent when it comes to male performers. Kind of sad.

And yes, streaming is hurting pop girls a lot. No respectable male will play a bubblegum pop loudly with his friends. That's why rap/hip-hop is killing it there.

maybe, who knows:nails:. shake it off sold 540k in pure sales first week even tho she first released the video and several hours she released the song on iTunes and also remember that every swift is song is full of controversy:poot:  but again nobody really knows, maybe she'll flop

edit: + she's not a political artist so the conservative white people doesn't really have a problem with her, they support her + her HUGE fanbase.

I'm talking about her lead single. The album will be released after.
