HelloBarbara

My personal ranking:

1. ARTPOP

2. The Fame Monster

3. Joanne

4. Born This Way

5. The Fame

6. Cheek to Cheek

Whereas, I think her best-to-least-best is:

1. The Fame Monster

2. Born This Way

3. Joanne

4. The Fame

5. ARTPOP

6. Cheek to Cheek

Not true.  There's music/albums out there that are timeless and covered by newer artists and still listened to by different generations and less dated than some music put out five years ago.

I don't think Joanne is underrated at all. It's just an okay album. It shows she has a range of musical abilities, but for me, personally, it's my least favorite album of hers.

But I can see why lots of people really enjoy it. It appeals to their specific musical tastes, and that's okay. I think it's sorta shitty to call people delusional because they don't take to an album that doesn't appeal to their own personal musical tastes.

Joanne is lyrically an amazing album. Production wise though it is weak. The production is lackluster and I am someone who enjoys organic, acoustic driven pop albums. Joanne is too middle of the road on that front.

I think you should honestly listen to the entire album again, but only the instrumentals. It's on YouTube. I think you'll appreciate it a lot more. After I did that, I considered Joanne her best production wise. The production for every song is incredible.

Every single fan base talks about albums by their favorite artist(s) that aren't massive sellers  as underrated and debate it, except the fans that outright don't like the album.  The bottom line is, if you like an artist a lot you love a lot of their music and are more open to it than if they were other artists and just love to follow their music and are more invested in it.  If someone isn't a fan of the artist for whatever reason, they just aren't that interested.

Joanne is a very good album.  I can listen to it and understand that it is very good objectively.  But, to my personal taste I don't listen to it all the way through ever anymore, because I find her vocals grating on some of the songs, the harsh way she chooses to sing them. It just bugs me.  I don't find it pleasant.  Like Diamond Heart is a great song.  Her vocals grate on me, so I listen to it a lot less because of that.  Except Perfect Illusion.  I  absolutely love that song.  And  I don't like her country affectation either on some songs, because it's not real, doesn't feel real.    I just play the songs I like from the album and enjoy the ones I do love.   Those are personal feelings, though.   Setting those feelings aside, I can still see that Joanne is a very well-made album and deserves praise, even if the album as a whole isn't my cup of tea and never will be..

I'm strongly attached to the idea that what ruins her everytime is the singles choices!

Should have been led by A-Yo, then Million Reasons, then Dancin' in circles  & if it was worth the catch end the era with PI.

I did :( I think it's not necessarily the instrumentals themselves. it's how her voice meshes with the music itself. it's like the mixing was done by a noob or something. It just felt a little off the more and more I hear the album. Love the lyrics, the instrumentals are good but something is just off sonically somehow. Still my favorite Gaga album though.

My boyfriend, who is not a huge Gaga fan, couldn't get through John Wayne by the time the chorus hit. It was grating for him to hear the way they autotuned her voice.

Haha very strange. I thought everything was well done.

OT: I think Joanne is underrated because it's a Gaga album, and definitely not what any was anticipating. I, for one, still think Joanne is her best album in terms of lyrics and instrumentals. I love it and always will

I'm not saying it's bad, it just sounds clearly 2008. In fact, I take back my words about TF raging 'badly'. Eg, when you listen to a Paula Abdul song from the 80s, you can tell it's old. That's what I mean, still sounds great tho.
