Is the Joanne era over?

considering that she released a music video for John Wayne without releasing the song as a single I think it could be possibile that while on tour she will release more videos from Joanne

but I could be wrong so 

anyway I think the Era will be officialy over once the tour is over

I think Gaga's reaching a point in her career where her albums don't have as much cultural impact, but she's been in the game long enough that her tours are much more popular (Kinda like Madonna). I think the effect of this will be the future tours (starting with JWT) will be not linked to the album as much as previous tours, but rather will serve as their own entity, only using the album to launch it.

I wouldn't say it's over. I personally don't consider an era done until she's finished the tour or if there's a very obvious transition (sort of like ARTPOP --> Cheek to Cheek). While The Cure is indeed a very different direction and transition from Joanne, she's not doing anything right now that would suggest that she wants to continue in that specific direction, like, she's not promoting it, or really talking about it too much, or really doing anything much about it other than just letting the song survive on its own—and it's doing perfect right now, so it's fine.

John Wayne itself has vastly different visuals from the rest of the Joanne era though.

This era's weird in terms of the visuals Gaga's been giving. In the beginning/middle of the era, it was very much cohesive—the pink hat, pink clothes, and overall much more "tame" fashion—but as we transitioned from and out of the Super Bowl and the Grammys, her fashion has been much more "GAGA" than ealier on in the era.

I hope not. I hope Cure is just buzz single to help give Joanne era longer run. Too short of era if not! Would be great if she continue and have AYO and Joanne as single, I also love Diamond Heart. I don't care about chart much, just good era! Joanne has been great and it too short to end it now!
