Eh, I would challenge that. Many artists who garner top singles, especially number one singles, perform their tracks on TV shows and the like. Gaga started her career and exploded to the top because she promoted the **** out of her music. Whether that was on television or IKEA parking lots, she made sure she could promote the stuff as often as she could. She performed and promoted this way even through the end of ARTPOP.

While her overall image has improved in the public's eye, she simply doesn't follow the same approach as she used to which is why her songs don't chart as high. I think we all forget that she promoted the **** out of her work before when she was at the top.

Million Reasons only shot to #4 because of the Superbowl. The Cure only garnered the heights it did because it's the most dance oriented song she's had since the ARTPOP era and she performed it during Coachella

She's always had to fight to raise her music chart wise. She doesn't do that anymore so it should be expeçted that she won't chart as high. She doesn't have that type of commerical appeal to have the song speak for itself, or have the public eat up her music. Not unless she dropped another Fame Monster. Not hate, shade or disrespect. It's just Business.

If she wants a number one song, she's gonna have to fight for it.

I agree with so many of your points however we need to remember that the industry has changed significantly since Gaga debuted. She could literally promote the heck out of her songs and they still might not go top 10 nowadays. TV performances give you temporary itunes boosts that last a little while and then disappear. MR was one of the most promoted singles of the year and it only made it top 10 for one week after the Superbowl which is the most watched live show ever. Now it is more effective to spam your music on to Spotify playlists and give payola to radio. It will help more then any form of live performances. The reason her music since ARTPOP has struggled is because radio is reluctant to play Gaga and because she missed out on the transition of the streaming era because the ARTPOP era was cut short and really streaming era started when the AP era was starting and we all know how she messed that up. So really my point is as long as she doesn ot payola the F out of her music and does not spam spotify playlists with her music Gaga will always struggle to chart...but we are seeing some big improvement now with the way TC is being handled because radio is playing it and spotify added it to many playlists. let's hope her team now know how to play smart. They've always worked hard but now they need to work smart.

The Cure may simply be a track used to see if she could garner a general audience again. We can only speculate at this point, but if her team released this for that reason, and did not have a fun video to back it up, or a planned EP to release, then someone really dropped the ball..

Completely agree.

#42. :( Removing it from Hot Tracks after, like, 1 day was the worst idea ever. Why is it always like this? :(

At least it doesn't seem to be hurting the radio airplay. I wonder if the sales of TC will react similarly to the way MR did with promotion.

Everytime she promoted MR it shot up on iTunes, even before radio picked it up. I would think TC would respond even better since it has higher airplay at this stage.

It doesnt yet, but it will if the song will continue to plummet like it does now.

I still think we should give it a couple of days. The iTunes situation is tragic, let's see if it rises on Spotify significantly in the coming days, if not then yeah, we're not having a hit with The Cure in the us, the radio itself wont be enough.

Unless they have something up their sleeve and give it Hot Tracks or some kind of promo - mv or something. Maybe a discount? I'm not sure.

Yes it would, TC is such a bop and so far with all the reactions it's well received. We just need to wait for the song to grow on radio (and I hope by that time she doesn't get removed yet from TTH).

And I agree that it was a bad move to remove it from Hot Tracks, especially because she only promoted it on Coachella.

Y'all are casting your doubts on TC. :( It's just two weeks old. No promo. It's even surprised released. There was no hype for the song. Yet it managed to top iTunes in over 50 countries and radios are spinning the **** out of it even if the official adds date is still tomorrow.

I have no doubts. It seems like it's on lock once a she promotes it! I was just trying to bring positivity because so many people seem so worried (about a song with no promotion whatsoever falling on iTunes, which is normal).
