I'm not talking about her "delivering visuals" in the sense that occasionally she looks stunning on the red carpet. The overall quality of her visuals has decreased, the clumsy Bowie drag and Basic Maxwell designs are no exceptions. The concepts and executions of looks, album covers, and music videos isn't the same caliber it once was. yeah i guess she'll never top this am i right But again, we'll have to agree to disagree, the only thing that disappointed me for a long time was the million reasons MV, otherwise i think she is still at the top of her game. For me, the Joanne era had/has an incredible simple aesthetic to it which i loved.

I never suggested that the Born This Way era wasn't part of the decline in visuals, so I'm not sure why you are bringing that up. But I'd certainly argue that the Born This Way cover is far more visually compelling than Joanne's Urban Outfitters catalog cover photo. The Born This Way album art was shot by Nick Knight who has worked with Bjork and Kanye (two musicians who prioritize boundary pushing and high caliber visuals), the BTW cover is a nod to Bowie's Diamond Dog album art, it accurately represents the concept of a restless road record, it's abrasive. It's unmistakably bold and Gaga. The Joanne album cover could be the album cover of any Adult Contempo artist of the last fifty years. The "minimalism" justification for the recent lack of effort placed on the visual aspect of her art is stale, it was a stale excuse when people used it to justify the Perfect Illusion video, the Coachella girl fashion, the album cover, the single covers, the apple commercial/music video copy and paste job. But sure, this era is, simple.

Honestly, the crap you're spewing, i can spew about the Joanne cover art as well, how her stale face expression seems to be witnessing the birth of the universe, while the unicorns were riding on their tricycles. That's what art is about. Anyone can interpret anything however they want. Like i already said a couple of times, we can agree to disagree. Just like you "found" amazing messages and metaphors in her TFM era, i found them in the Joanne era. Doesn't mean her "art" or "visual representation of music" is in decline. It's just that apparently you don't like it as much, or it just didn't resonate as well with you. I find it offensive that you call it a "lack of effort" because this era has been everything but. I'm not really sure what you expect of her? To basically dress like a lunatic every time she does a radio interview where all she is supposed to do is provide her voice? To put on a meat dress while going to the studio? I actually found the PI video amazing, not sure what is wrong with it. And like i said, i agree that the MV video was a disappointment, but that is the only thing this whole era that "lacked effort", and i'm pretty sure that was because she had an insanely busy schedule. She was the first to start the "wacky" trend and everybody followed suit. I am just glad that she realized the appropriate time to end it, unlike some of her fans, I guess. You are creating the false dichotomy that the only options are "wacky lunatic" or standard jeans or gown. You are also taking this way to personally. So I'm going to end my contribution to the conversation. Have a good night Gagamel.

I'm not taking anything personally on a Lady Gaga Fan forum, sorry if you got that impression it's just that sometimes i have to apparently constantly repeat myself to get people here to actually read what i spend my time writing, which gets annoying.
