I didnt watch AHS:Hotel, but she won a *Golden Globe  for that. Maybe someone who watched all the seasons of AHS can confirm if she deserved it or not.

It also depends on her acting/role in ASIB and who her competitors are for the Oscars

She did not imo. She was good in 3, maybe 4 scenes, but that's it. The "but that's what the Countess was supposed to feel like" excuse is what it is : an excuse.

The academy sucks daddy Bradley's d*ck though? This is a big budget musical starring one of the most popular male leads of our times and a hugely popular star like Gaga about the music industry and it's a remake of Hollywood classic... It's going to be a huge box office smash

I actually don't care about how much money it makes because I have more interest in movie awards but you have a point.

Bradley + Gaga and a good distributor like Warner Bros., how flop can it be?

Exactly likes it's not some obscure project with Gaga and a bunch of unknowns and a moderate budget!

It's Gaga, A-lister Bradley Cooper, a major studio and classic concept that's been successfully remade once and the GP is clearly here for it (La La Land).

I'm super here for it and I can't wait to see Mama Monster deliver! :staymad:

Whether or not she'll receive an Oscar, for her acting maybe not but I'm confident in her vocal talent and the soundtrack to have at least one epic song for her.

Also the Academy know that they owe her one :reductive:

How can you compare the role offered to Gaga in AHS to ASIB?

AHS was her first acting role, I mean Sarah Paulson took training to get where she is today, I'm not saying Gaga can definitely land an Oscar, I'm saying it takes time for an actor to develop her skills, and AHS was her first acting role and she landed a Golden Globe.

It wasn't her first acting role.
Machete Kills, La Chameleon.

But from the looks of thing's she's playing her persona again like she did in Hotel, I mean come on she's gone brunette to play a struggling musician and will probably go back blonde and her character will probably bleach her hair to get famous image wise. Seems like she's playing herself for sure. I personally enjoyed her little part in Roanoke Nightmarke because she was playing a well acted character with an accent and more.

I thought so too.

It seems like she will be playing Stefanie in the movie, her own past as trying to make it big in the city

It will be nice to see her go through it all

I feel like she has a bit of a higher chance this time around, considering she's integral not just in the acting, but in the composition of original songs (which might also tie in with the orchestral score, I think, if they go that route).

I mentioned a few weeks ago, that imo it would have been brilliant if Marry the Night was a fully realized, full-length art film that transcended the whole BTW album. Like, I feel like that was her at her most "arthouse" type visual aesthetic, and having something like that for an hour (or even longer) would have been awesome.

And I agree about Roanoke. I mean, I really loved her in Hotel, and really do believe she deserved that Golden Globe (the writing, characterization, and execution of The Countess is one of my favorite in the whole series), but something about having her play a character with a much different tone and visual was exciting (I know they're similar, but from jaded immortal vampire queen to dirty immortal forest witch? fun).

I feel like she can win for the score of the film. I liked her acting in AHS but it was not Oscar worthy. Let's see if she steps it up!

I thought Gaga's boyfriend's name was Christian?

I can't see it happening in the near future but maybe when she's 60 and writes another ballad for a movie or something.

It doesn't count for reasons I don't need to elaborate.

Well AHS was her first major acting role. Machete Kills barely offered her 5 minutes of scenes to explore.
