Even if you don't consider her beautiful, she was still pretty by most people's standards and I've always wondered whether she was just unlucky or bullying is much more common in the states. I went to school (in the czech republic) with people a lot uglier than her, people who would only wear indian clothing, people with a stutter, nerdy girls who refused to even utter a word in class (to not miss what the teacher was saying), bossy girls, girly boys, boys so stoned they didn't even know where they were, girls who would put on make up in class, girls who would never wear any make up, people who were poor, rich, fat, skinny, and some of the quirkiest people I've ever met, but NO ONE ever got bullied, not even a little, we all just somehow got on with each other even if there were people you didn't like. It's interesting how much someone's negative ideas about another person's image can affect them. That person who looked down on Gaga's teeth probably doesn't even remember saying it to her, but she carried that with her into her adult life. That's what bullies target usually: behaviors that are considered weird and different from theirs. And from what she said, since she was a kid she was creative, artsy and different. ooo 407 Posted April 7, 2017 Share Posted April 7, 2017 i wasn't exactly ugly in middle or high school and i got made fun of for having horse teeth even after braces. basically i relate to gaga on this. it might seem small but that kind of thing factored into my suicidal behavior and depression. pretty girls, like gaga, can be bullied bc other girls have to find something wrong with them. She was so stunning back then and she is even more stunning today. I think people who bullied Gaga might have done it out of jealousy or stupidity, just to bring her down and mess with her. Bullying in public school especially all girls school can be so harsh, I know from experience but I'm so happy to see Gaga never let the negativity get to her mind.
