Whatever she releases it won't be a hit if she and us don't work extra hard for it, she's not at a point where she can just choose a single and radio and Spotify embrace it right away while she relaxes at home while it rises to the top 10 like some girls can.

You know that for DIC (or any song on Joanne right now) to become a hit, no matter how good or hit worthy it sounds, we will have to HUSTLE so be prepared., maybe less than MR since she seems to be regaining a bit of her power but she won't get an easy hit just because DIC sounds like a smash, not right away.

Honestly, I love the beat and everything but I don't think people will truly dig the overly sexual themes. Yes I do know that that's a staple in pop music, but there's a limit to what is "acceptable" to the OP. Plus she isn't promoting anything so 3/4ths of it will be on us to request it, it might be thrown to the wind.

It might happen if they shoot an amazing video. The song has potential.

I really don't understand what potential people see in DiC. It's a catchy song, but "Let's funk downtown" "Up all night, trying to rub the pain out" "Touch myself to pass the time" – what mainstream radio is going to play this?

Can someone actually explain to me the DiC camp's rationale for this being the next single aside from it being catchy?

But they're certainly out on for the intention of being heard by bothe fans and the public.

Dude just let it go :air: I know you think the song is going to gain career damaging notoriety but, it's not. If anything, some soccer moms will complain and in doing so gain some attention from the public. Best case scenario, it becomes her first international hit in a long, long, long time.

I for one would love for her to take that risk and go for it, and I hope she does too.

Let it go? I can have my opinion!

Besides saying that its career damaging is a reach. Its more like not completing th cleanse of this era is what i was trying to say

I wasn't saying let go of your opinion. You're obviously allowed to have your opinions, I was just referring to our conversation

And I don't think the intention of this era was the further "cleanse" her image. The GP for the most part knows she's talented, DiC being a single or being promoted on pop radio isn't going to change things lol

Gaga: In the fire I call your name out, sing it Rih;

Rihanna: Up all night tryna rub the pain out.

Rih's s&m was a radio hit a few years ago and it's more explicit that DIC.

see I was thinking that too but I don't think that's false equivalency

"Sex in the air"

"Chains and whips excite me"

are probably the most forthright lyrics in the song, and "sex in the air" is said fairly quickly. "Let's funk downtown" "Rub the pain out" "Touch myself" – she doesn't say these lyrics quickly, they're loud and clear. I really don't think S&M is "more" explicit than DiC, I think it's just more subtle in the way it goes about its subject matter.

I really can't imagine KIIS FM playing DiC, or any other mainstream radio station in the L.A. area for that matter.
