Back in the mode 2000's she used to be apart of a girl group called Danity Kane (they went platinum on their albums and a few singles) but now she and another former group member are apart of an indie synth pop group called dumblonde. I read that as Dumbledore at first.

JustAnotherDay 8,402
btw, the third part loophole is also illegal. http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/money/economy/2007-04-13-2144814802_x.htm Of course payola happens but it so insignificant now. If a label wants to get a song spun a lot, they use radio deals, or sponsorships, or award shows (like iHeart). I promise you all that I wouldn't post something untrue was NickARTPOP
TwerkinLurkin 4,764
Some of Yall really believe mr went from having zero airplay for 4 months to all of a sudden being on power rotation on every big radio station in just America had nothing to do with Interscope dishing out money to get it played. that's cute

Payola is illegal in the US. No big artist/record label/big radio station will risk it. Stop saying it's being used because it's not. 1 minute ago, NickARTPOP said: btw, the third part loophole is also illegal. http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/money/economy/2007-04-13-2144814802_x.htm Of course payola happens but it so insignificant now. OBEY 57,109
Yeah i don't think songs are 100% payola. Radios spins the song and then if you want them to continue spinning if they start to slow down/not spin it enough u then give them some money. But for lots of songs i believe radios simply play them and arent necessary bought.

OBEY 57,109
Why should we be "ashamed" if Gaga paid a bit to get MR played on radios? If she did it, lots of people do it. It's business and it's the music industry right now; you pay for a banner on itunes, you pay for a playlist on spotify, etc.
