Oprah is great, her story is inspiring, she has overcome unbelievable adversity to become one of the most influential and respected people on the planet.

Obviously I prefer Oprah to Trump and I think she is a fantastic person - but I'm not sure that the person who endorsed 'the secret' and is responsible for giving the dangerous and unethical Dr. Oz a television platform is the best person for the job of POTUS.

I would hope that there are more qualified and progressive candidates running in 2020. Our aim should be greater than winning for the sake of winning, we need to retain some standards.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been a registered Republican and spoke at the Republican National Convention in 2000, he has also said, about running in 2020 “I wouldn’t rule it out. It would be a great opportunity to help people, so it’s possible. This past election shows that anything can happen.”

Kanye West has said he will run for president in 2020.

Maybe Meryl Streep can also run on the Democratic ticket, Clint Eastwood can run as a Republican and the U.S presidential election can become the A-lister equivalent of Celebrity Big Brother, The Celebrity Apprentice and Dancing With The Stars!!

Do you not think that she HAS to know how government works? Her empire is so big that every tax regulation affects her and her business/charities significantly.

Just because you get elected doesn't mean you automatically have good experience or are qualified. That's why Hillary lost! Because yes, her resume looks good on paper, but people didn't actually like her performance on the job!

All Senators do is vote yes and no, how does that prepare you to run an executive branch? Running one of the worlds largest countries as a Chief Executive Official (CEO) gives you actually executive experience. 

Oprah is literally in charge of a 4 Billion dollar economy every day.

Stop simplifying the job of a senator, think about how much work they have to put into writing legislation, going over legislation and voting on it. You learn a lot about the issues facing the country by doing it. Senators are also on committees where they gain experience on issues facing the country. They learn a lot of the legislative process and have worked directly to pass legislation. 

Also, if you don't want a far left democrat, you can find one that's more moderate. We have them in congress. I'm a progressive, I'm entitled to want to nominate a progressive. You can be entitled to want a moderate. I like the idea of career politicians too.

Their job likely is easier then Oprah's but her job has nothing to do with the issues facing the American people. Could some of her job help her as president? Possibly but government and business are not the same thing and if you want to be president, you should've had some sort of government experience first. 

Its also worth noting that most senators have done other government jobs like house member for many years before being elected to the senate. 

Also, the concept of a career politician has nothing to with the gops success. They're all careers themselves. So they're have no issues voting for a career politician. Otherwise Mitch and Paul wouldn't still be there.
