Like the whole point of legalization is that it get rid of the black market for the drug. The BLACK MARKET is where drug dealers abuse other people and women like you pointed out. 

When it's legalized it becomes infinitely more safe. 

You are literally arguing that we should KEEP the illegal black market on this drug, aka allowed seedy drug deals and abusive pimps and gangs to thrive.

I could potentially be swayed to believe that if there was enough evidence to suggest that legalisation would DRAMATICALLY decrease drug related criminal activity.

I personally think that the matter would become worse and drug dealers would aim to undercut the government. Also, it's not like drug addicts (of other substances) would be able to purchase it so the whole population of addicts would become totally reliant on the black market. It doesn't seem to me that legalisation would have a positive effect on this tbh.

By all means argue your point, but until it is legalised I believe that we should all abide by the law.

I would prefer if it was illegal and we continued to work on rehabilitation and tackling the black market.

You cannot be physically addicted to weed. It is not biologically or chemically possible. Unlike alcohol, which if you are an alcoholic and stop drinking cold turkey you could actually die due to withdrawals.

You need more substance to your claim though. Segregation was once the law of the nation. LGBTQ had almost zero rights until the 2000s. Laws are meant to be broken.

I'd advise you brush up on your marijuana history. Scholarly people would educate you on the fact that marijuana was originally subjected to social stigma by the US government in order to demonize the user and foreign culture. 

Furthermore, there's a lot you and I could benefit from by learning about the history and facts rather than the issues that now exist because of the push to stigmatize and imprison users and supporters of the substance. Are there some alarming things going on with marijuana today? Sure, but again those issues primarily pertain to poor propaganda and the incarceration of minorities. That's what we should be focusing on.

Oh my god. You clearly have demonstrated an total lack of knowledge about this.

In states like Colorado where weed is legalized, the price of weed is WAAAAYYYYYY lower that an states where is it still illegal. There is no way a drug dealer, who is taking on a risk premium, can compete with legalized head shops and dispensaries. 

The legalization of weed in Colorado and other states has shown a complete elimination of the black market (where the crimes you're so worried about HAPPEN!). PLUS there is ACTUAL EVIDENCE (which you have neglected to supply any of your own!) that shows to use of HEROIN and other opioids does DOWN. 

If you are against crime and addiction to dangerous drugs, you should be in favor of legalized cannabis! Period!

But marijuana IS legal in many states and have found MANY pros over cons: jobs, surplus and tax returns, less violence, etc. The facts don't lie. And I'm glad some states have already taken the first steps in showing people that marijuana can in fact exist in this country without causing more harm.

US states and other countries have actual evidence of what happens when it's legalized so it would be wise to research the impact.
