The administration of President Donald Trump expects to see greater federal enforcement of laws against the use of marijuana for recreational purposes, a White House spokesman said on Thursday.

Asked if the government would take action on recreational marijuana use, White House spokesman Sean Spicer said: "Well I think that's a question for the Department of Justice. I do believe you'll see greater enforcement of it. Because again there's a big difference between the medical use ... that's very different than the recreational use, which is something the Department of Justice will be further looking into."

Seen to many lives ruined because of it... It should only be available for people who seriously need it for medical purposes, and not to the people who want it just to get "high".

Lace up my boots, throw on some leather and cruise.

Sure. Let's convict people for using a PLANT, while feeding them antidepressants that are proven to be CARCINOGENS AND DEADLY.

We might as well get rid of alcohol. I'm totally sure that'll go over easy.

Marijuana isn't just used to get "high". It can be used for anxiety and simply for recreational purposes.

If you're referring to people's lives being ruined, then yea, there's way too many in the prison system whose lives were destroyed for marijuana possession. And they weren't even abusing it. And DO NOT get me started on the disturbingly disportioncate incarceration rates between whites and blacks in my state. This issue is way more important than people getting "high".

Oh and maybe if it was legalized we wouldn't have to deal with those "bad hombres" bringing it into the states.  And then we could actually start creating jobs for the industry while combating the immigrant issue that "they bring in drugs".

Chill when they need to crack down on their leader

Walk down the runway but don't puke, it's okay. You just had 10 donuts today. Without frosting.

That will just give them an excuse to arrest more minorities. No one arrests the white people who smoke weed (recreational or medical), but it's perfectly fine according to the government to arrest those with darker skin colours :crossed:

People commonly confuse the issue of marijuana with the actual use of it.

Drugs are a problem because of the problems they create behind the scenes, not because people are getting high.

I'd genuinely like to know how weed ruined lives?

Because I'm guessing you're speaking for experience, so juxtaposed to that my experience is that weed has done nothing at all to the plethora of people I know who smoke it.

So I'm curious what a life ruined from weed is..

Drugs breed violence, gangs, sexual assault, sometimes slavery. The issue isn't the use.
