It will most likely increase, since the alt-right has gained public notability.

This is disgusting. We live in a ****ed up world and continue to regress.

A lot of this is thanks to Trump who has emboldened the alt-right and empowered all bigots around the country and world.

The crazy alt right feels empowered.

And our President wants to deny, or ignore, that it's happening.

Sources? Evidence?

Or did you pull that 'fact' from thin air?

Seems like you're seeing these media reports and assuming racist, xenophobic or anti-Semitic acts are on the rise, without researching any further.

Similar to how most Americans believe crime has increased in the past couple decades, despite the fact crimes have steadily decreased (also a perception you can thank the media for, whether through more thorough reporting, or skewed coverage):

Actually I'm well aware that crime has been declining and very steadily. I also did a research paper for school a few years back on hate crimes against gay people and so I'm also aware that hate crimes have been on the rise for LGBTQ people, namely transgender people, and naturally the long-term trends have not been affected all that much since this increase has been relatively more recent and so not yet reflected in those long-term trends. Also whether they will continue to rise is uncertain, and so it is uncertain how much it will affect those broader trends. But that doesn't mean it isn't happening.

It also doesn't negate the fact that LGBTQ people have recently been more targeted than other groups that have been targeted historically. Furthermore, the ways in which hate crimes are reported and examined is very problematic and mean that they go underreported. The ways individual agencies and police departments and policies they use to report hate crime statistics vary across the country and there is no uniform way of tracking them.

So those numbers you provide and which are considered "official" are not very accurate to begin with.
