I take your point, but by that logic, she shouldn't release any next single because none of the songs have that "sound" or are trendy.

That killer chorus in A-YO and the response most people have when hearing it (bopping out and moving without conscious intent) is indicative of a hit. Not a guarantee obvs, but a chance and more of one than any of the other songs.

DIC is the closest to that 'sound' IMO. It has a build up, and a drop, and a tropical-esque beat. It's enough to get an amount of attention when played on the radio. The fact that some Little Monsters are still in denial of The Chainsmokers's 'hit' factor kinda shows me that some of the people here really don't understand how hits become hits today. IMO their songs are not really that catchy (except for Closer) but people still buy them. Today, the youngsters seem to care more about a 'dope ass beat', which is kinda sad, but that's the truth.

CTSF will be gone by tomorrow night.

In some ways I agree but just with its lyrics and such that can be kinda cringey for some, I worry about it :awkney:

It's got an amazing production and beat and is so catchy, I just wish it had different lyrics that weren't so obvious about what the song is about. I'm not even referring to its sexual nature cause a lot of songs have that. I refer to its clear reference to masturbation which can still be seen as taboo or stigmatized for women in today's culture, unfortunately.

If it had some smarter, more masked references I would be completely here for it being the next single. Which is why A-YO needs to be the next one, cause DIC is too much of a risk when Gaga doesn't have as much leeway to do that.

At the end of the day though, I will be satisfied with whatever single she ends up going with. I am never one to be against Gaga taking risks, I only want what's best for her commercially right now. :)

I was thinking about how it would be interesting to see how a radio exclusive single would fare today. They used to be commonplace back when physical singles were a thing but faded out with digital downloads. Assuming that radio doesn't just drop it without a digital release (which is a big risk, why play a song you can't download or stream anywhere in the digital age). The highest a song could peak with only radio is around 9 or 10 but I wonder if you tube videos with the song ripped from the radio would give it a substantial boost, or if they would even count. I would like to see a big artist with nothing to lose like Adele or Ed Sheeran to try it, just to see what happens.

She's truly dead here, no one knows a single song from Joanne, and ARTPOP. Applause was never big in Europe. :smh:

I love this quote from the Bible. I'm sure Europe is going to love some DIC!

It's such a stupid argument. Just because it's a fan-favourite doesn't mean it will automatically flop. I mean, Bad Romance is a fan favourite of TFM, right?

After it became a hit single. Completely different situation. Judging from Gaga's past, fan favourite songs are rarely picked as singles and when they do, they flop.

Exactly:

TF: Summerboy

TFM: DitD

BTW: Heavy Metal Lover/Scheisse

ARTPOP: GUY (hardcore flop)

Joanne:  DH & DiC

That's sad tbh she really needs to revive her career next In the UK and even aus I think she can do it though because from you and I until Joanne (the album) came out no one here in the us really gave a **** about her anymore tbh she had success with applause but that was it everyone from the end of the BTW Era and all of the ARTPOP Era just made fun of her it wasn't until when she started doing stuff like the sound of music performance and the National anthem people started to take her serious again

That's incorrect. Perfect Illusion was played and managed to get to top50 airplay here, I heard MR once () on the radio and Applause along with DWWU were played. But yeah, it all started to collapse after BTW.

Is that how you judge whether a song becomes a hit, instead of you know...the GP's reception? :awkney:
