On a semi-related note, does anyone feel like this entire era is putting her on track to release something incredibly successful? In other words, her momentum is actually impressive now (and the tour is what really confirms this).

Gaga, ha Beyoncé is coming.

Stefani

I really think it was a smart move that she released a toned-down not-so-poppy album first to win GP back. This really smoothens her way for the next record.

Her team from 2014 till now was on point in re-building her image. I think that no other popgirl would be able to crawl from the bottom back to the top if they would have been in the same situation like Gaga.

Her next album needs to come off the back of a big promo spot in 2018 or q4 of 2017 to maintain momentum.

There's some smart marketing they could do to boost joanne to secure the next eras success but they haven't touched it yet.

Yes, the same marketing team that got her ass to the Superbowl when her last hit was in 2013. I wouldn't write them off.

Maybe not Joanne but an album or an EP while she disappears for touring and ASIB.

Otherwise, her hype would fizzle out.

I would live for an re-release before the tour or an EP afterwards. :whitney:

Definitely.  Her team had a clear vision and thought long term.  They took time to plan everything rather than go for some kind of quick fix that would backfire (ie. "bring back 'old gaga!,' etc").  "First we get them all to love you again with a solid, heart-felt album showing that you're a true artist.  Then the Super Bowl.  And then........."

There are a few methods. The biggest promo for an album is a popular single. Method one is the Teenage Dream method.

1. Superglue a feature from a willing artist (Kendrick, weeknd, Ariana, Bieber, etc) on to a pre-existing popular album track and put it out as a single. It's "new" but not new. This method scores instant hits and sells albums.

2. Multiple versions. Weren't there 6 different versions of the fame? Add in target exclusives, online exclusives etc for the album but a bit late for that now.

3. The visual rerelease. When the videos are all done, rerelease the album with a dvd version! Instant success!

4. Album signings. What happened to these? Get out there and sign your stuff! Make people buy extras!

Plus lots more.

One that would be immediate is to payola the hell out of Spotify.

Spotify promo is for free because they used all of her money on radio payola. So Spotify did charity for her.
