Netherlands to ban Burqa in public spaces

I really don't think any woman really wants to wear this. I know some of them say they do, but if their society wouldn't have brainwashed them into "liking" to wear them they wouldn't.

And I don't want to see symbols of the opression of women in my country, so I would like us to ban burqas too (They are worn rather rarely tho. Maybe more often in the worse parts of Neukölln )

its about being able to identify people who commit crimes which you can't do if your entire face is covered... the OP suggests the law only applies to Burqas but the law says anything that covers the entire face.

The problem is the xenophobic thinking behind it. What if it's cold and I want to wear my scarf around my face because of it, what will happen then? I'll tell you: nothing because I don't "look muslim".

You need to look at the security point of view though. It doesn't matter if it is a burqa or a clown masked. If you can't see the face or identify you can basically do what ever you want. You could stab a person and security cameras wouldn't be able to identify you because your face is not seen.

A scarf isn't going to cover your ENTIRE face like a burqa would though? It's targeting ANY clothing that makes you unidentifiable, not singling out Burqas.

The security argument is crap, and it's only based in fearmongering. 

Do you think that a person who wants to commit a crime is honestly concerned if they are showing their face just to please the law? NO. If a person wants to commit a crime without being identified, they will still wear a mask!! 

This is the transgender bathroom argument all over again...if a man wants to attack a woman in the bathroom, it's not a stick figure wearing a skirt on the door that is going to stop him!

Girl, read the article:

You don't need to wear a scarf inside a hospital, school or government building. In case you didn't notice, Europe has to deal with a series of terror attacks. People want to feel secure. Thereby out little blond friend Geert Wilders is leading the polls for some time now. It's understandable out government feels the need to compromise with the far right in things. We've seen what happens if you ignore them (Trump and Brexit). In the Netherlands they got a big warning with a referendum about relations with Ukraine too, which they lost badly.

 People still have the right to wear these clothes, just not in bigger public environments.
