Why are you guys acting as if you had high regards and respect for Lil Wayne? Does he look like he professor at Harvard? He's a successful millionaire rapper who's abused slizzurp and alcohol in his mansion his entire adult life.

And you guys saying he's selfish and shouldn't think he represents the black experience, he SAYS he can only represent his experience in the video.

I can't believe I'm defending Lil Wayne lol

It doesn't seem like he's informed or has thought about the police brutality aspect of BLM. What he's saying is true, you can be successful as a black person. The president of the United States is black.

You're right about most people who can't make a difference, but you said it yourself; Lil Wayne is known and famous. He shouldn't, as a person with influence, make a comment like this. I'd rather he just avoid the question (if that's how he really feels), instead of trivializing the movement.

Lil Wayne can say whatever he wants. Stop trying to limit free speech. You're free to disagree with him if you think he's wrong, and please do- discussion is how progress is made.

I think that he meant to say something like this: "Im incredibly successful, and have not experienced racism, so I cannot support BLM just because I'm black." I think he got irritated because the media's logic is your black=you should automatically support BLM. Notice how they rarely ask white people what they think about BLM, but they constantly ask African Americans? Having said that, his response was incredibly rude and insensitive imo. But its Lil Wayne, what else could you expect.

I feel like @SKANK has the most unbiased opinion on this site. What do you think?

Well I really didn't understand what you said no need to be that damn agressive.

I agree with this.

This absolute lack of empathy or even attempting to understand a situation :duck: His experience of racism (or lack thereof) doesn't speak for the whole of the country and I really hope he realises that one day

The truth is the BLM movement is pointless. The core of their protesting is racism which cannot be eliminated even by the strictest of laws. The racists simply must die off.
