XoXoJoanneGaga 629
11 hours ago, Miracle said: Why would he compare 2009 Gaga to Frank Ocean? Gaga's 2009 is actually bigger than Kanye and Frank careers. Combined. Multiplied by 2. Kanye has sold more records than Gaga, so how could one of her individual years be bigger than his career

ReidOne 12,427
I'm so confused... how exactly did they bend the rules for her? To me it seems like they did NOT bend the rules because she was not nominated for Best New Artist, right? The Grammy's have always been "flexible" with their timelines in order to nominate work based on when it broke through, rather than strictly by when it was released. This is nothing new. Shelby Lynne won the Best New Artist Grammy in 2000, even though she had released *5* major label country albums prior to that between 1989-1995 (they considered her "new" because she broke thru to a new genre). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shelby_Lynne
